Wednesday, April 22, 2009. I just got back from spring break. I had an amazing time. I took the train and my backpack and for two weeks I explored France. Over the next few days I'll slowly add pictures and descriptions of my trip. I hope you enjoy. My first destination was the town of Roquefort, home of the famous moldy blue cheese made from ewe milk. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. We had some really cold weather in Lyon. This is a statue designed by Bartholdi, the same man created the Statue of Liberty. Sarah came to see me over winter break! We had an awesome time. This is a picture from Notre Dame de Paris. I loved the gargoyles. Again, up in Notre Dame. This is me in the "Cheese Tower" in the village of Cluny. Thursday, May 7, 2009. One of the coolest things about Roquefort was the hotel I stayed in. I recommend it to everybody. It was a little more expensive than I wanted to pay, 40 euros a night, but it was well worth it. It was a nice family owned hotel. Patrick, the owner, picked me up from the train station, served me dinner and then let me borrow his car the entire day! Here is the hotel's information:. Lauras, 12250 Roquefort sur soulzon. Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Place St. Jean. The place for people watching in Lyon is the Place St. Jean, the cathedral square. I've also found a great way to practice French is to talk to all the solicitors who are on Rue St. Jean, Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la Republique. Without further ado, please enjoy this replay of an afternoon at Place St. Jean. The Chamber of Commerce. It is a very impressive building. Mike, I think it is time we upgraded I'm not sure a new coat of paint is going to do it.
