DrewPhoto Bethany

Wednesday, January 11, 2017. When I began this project, I planned to make all of the multi-frame images in black and white. This would draw more attention to the textures in the photos. Then, I noticed that some photos looked really good together because of the mutual textures AND color. So I ended up leaving a few images in color. In some one these images, I tried to create a narrative by pairing characters with photographs. Monday, December 5, 2016. Sunday, December 4, 2016. For this series I truly emb...

DrewPhoto Bethany: November 2016

http://drewphotobethany.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 20, 2016. In Angela Deane's series Flora. She uses found photographs of plants and paints faces onto them. Some photographs depict a story. I tried to emulate this style of mixed media art in my own series entitled Flora. All of these photos were taken on or by the Drew School campus. I used paint pen and sharpies to draw over the photographs after they've been printed out. Friday, November 11, 2016. Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

DrewPhoto Bethany: Ghost Photographs the last draft

http://drewphotobethany.blogspot.com/2016/12/ghost-photographs-last-draft.html

Sunday, December 4, 2016. Ghost Photographs the last draft. For this series I truly embodied Angela Deane's style by using actual found photos to create this series. I didn't modify the colors in any of these photos. This series wasn't as fun to create because the photos weren't mine and lacked personal meaning to me, but it was fun looking for photos to use nonetheless. December 4, 2016 at 5:17 PM. I think this final draft is really cool! December 4, 2016 at 9:18 PM. December 5, 2016 at 7:53 AM.

DrewPhoto Bethany: Portfolio

http://drewphotobethany.blogspot.com/2016/12/portfolio-for-my-portfolio-i-chose-two.html

Monday, December 5, 2016. For my portfolio, I chose the two best images from each draft. Though they aren't in order by draft, they're organized by style/technique. The first two images are from my first draft. For these images, I captured the photos myself and later went in and used a paint pen to draw the ghosts. For this whole series I used white paint pen. For the next two photos I searched on the internet for found photos. All of these photos had a common theme and color palette.

DrewPhoto Bethany: Ghost Photographs 2

http://drewphotobethany.blogspot.com/2016/11/ghost-photographs-2-as-opposed-to.html

Friday, November 11, 2016. As opposed to the previous photo set, I used photos from my childhood that are taken by my family members. By doing this I am more so emulating Angela Deane's practice because she uses found photographs for her pieces. Though looking through old photos was fun, in the future, I plan to stick to my own photographs. I also plan to draw things other than ghosts. November 14, 2016 at 6:24 PM. Photography: JR - Final Series

http://drewphotonenuh.blogspot.com/2016/11/jr-final-series.html

Wednesday, November 30, 2016. JR - Final Series. For my final series, I used portraits that I already took and changed up the backgrounds. I took pictures around Drew and placed the portraits where I thought they would go in real life. I tried to place the facial expressions accordingly to the locations as well. 8719;Iāˆāˆ†. http://drewphotocallie.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 10, 2016. For this assignment I attempted to capture emotions through the eyes off a model. I chose to try to get emotions that play a roll in my life and the models. I tried to capture happiness, embarrassment, sadness, love, and a few others. Enjoy! Sunday, October 2, 2016. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Ethereal theme. DrewPhotoBrian: March 2016

http://drewphotobrian.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 18, 2016. These images represent the best of my series of emulating Nathan Lyons. They are the best because they capture the essence of what I was going for, which were interesting urban scenes that when taken out of context present something about human expression. These include advertisements, and things human created. These also contain my strongest compositions. Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Monday, March 7, 2016. Wednesday, March 2, 2016. http://drewphotojack.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 26, 2014. These are Symmetrical photos. In these photos repeat themselves. The goal of the photo set was the capture something that reflected itself in the other half of the photo. This set of photos have balance. Photos with balance have the feature of repeating themselves. Each side of the photo should have some similar elements. These are asymmetrical photos. The goal of these photos is to incorporate a sense of difference between the two sides of each photo. Drew Photo Class 16/17.

DREWPHOTO RAFAEL: October 2016

Body{ cursor: url(http:/ flowjournal.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Image-1-Guy-Fieri.png), auto; }. Monday, October 10, 2016. I tried to emphasize the emotion in Bethany's eyes and her expressions. I feel like some of these pictures would have been better in color but we had to use black and white. Sunday, October 2, 2016. The hardest part of this assignment for me was the balance. I tried to find photos where there were two subjects that were roughly the same size. The easiest part was symmetry.

DrewPhotoBrian: October 2016

http://drewphotobrian.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 10, 2016. For this third series, I finalized my focus of abstract surfaces, inspired by Aaron Siskin. I highlighted textures in this one more so than my last posts. I am overall satisfied with these photos and the whole series. These represent the culmination of my series and contain the aspects that I focused on. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). DrewPhotoBrian: February 2016

http://drewphotobrian.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 12, 2016. Nathan Lyons Series 1. These were the photos that I thought represented the style of Nathan Lyons while still retaining my own. Almost all of the photos contain some kind of expression from people, from advertisements to graffiti. I feel like these photos somewhat capture reactions from people to the environment they live in, as well as the state of the environment itself. Wednesday, February 3, 2016. DrewPhotoBrian: December 2016

http://drewphotobrian.blogspot.com/2016_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 9, 2016. I inverted the colors and changed them to create this one. This one utilizes the mirror effect to create an abstracted animal. I also made the tint purple. I wanted to create a nostalgic faded feel with this one. I added a purple tint and used the pixelated effect for this photo. For this one I used "posterize" to give it a cartoonish or animated look. I used the "Warhol" setting to invert the colors to give the photo a more drawn feel. Monday, December 5, 2016.

In my opinion these are my best photos due to the beauty they capture that can be found in everyday life. I like to highlight small moments that captures emotions of someone, or the interaction of people, or just the simple beauty in something. Therefore, I tried my best to find the beauty in the world in which we see everyday.

Thursday, January 27, 2011. Hey Thanks for doing this. I need to get rid of 4 photos. So I would ideally like to know which 5 to take out. I was also told in a portfolio review to pick photos that were more than just "nature is pretty" so if you could keep that in mind too that would be awesome. Thanks. They ask what medium it is.
