Great Smoky Mountains | Dan Sherman Photography
https://danshermanphoto.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/great-smoky-mountains
I literally had my breath taken away when I saw where we were actually camped the next morning. We spent the day hiking around our campground and took a trail up the Little River. The weather was ideal for some long exposures of the water and leaves. This was my favorite shot of that hike. Sunrise was completely clear and cloudless given the high winds. But, I still enjoyed viewing the entire park and watching the changing light over the hills. This old church reminded me of a scene from Season 2 of the ...

My Epic Road Trip Part 1 | Dan Sherman Photography
https://danshermanphoto.wordpress.com/2013/07/29/my-epic-road-trip-part-1
My Epic Road Trip Part 1. You can imagine that I spent most of my time researching the best places to take shots of all our destinations. For this research, I continue to use Google Earth and check out the Panoramico photos people have taken and geotagged. This was particularly helpful for figuring out where to shoot city skylines from because I could use the 3D feature on the buildings. This was our first night spent in our trailer and we were very comfy! After Hot Springs it was on to Dallas and my Aun...

Virginia | Dan Sherman Photography
https://danshermanphoto.wordpress.com/2012/10/16/virginia
Well, I am finally getting around to recounting our last trip; it has been three weeks since we got home! The next morning I took a short walk along the river through the fog. Very beautiful country. The innkeeper, who also happens to be a retired chef, cooked us delicious french toast for breakfast and we were on our way to Shenandoah. It was just a three or four hour drive down the road a ways. We had our fair share of rain in Maine in August! There really is an app for pretty much everything. And the ...

Key West and Dry Tortugas – South Florida Part 2. When we arrived at the Yankee Freedom terminal, the boat trip was still on stand-by. So, we waited in our car, finger’s crossed until we had a confirmation…which turned out to be a no-go. Fortunately, they had cleared up a few more slots for campers the following day. We had an extra day to play with so we immediately opted to camp the following night. I was so relieved! I don’t think we were supposed to be allowed in the grounds of this historic ho...

Everglades and Biscayne National Parks – South Florida Part 1. Just to the right of these palms, there was a surfer model shoot going on…pretty sweet. We just chilled on the beach all afternoon until sunset when the rain clouds from the north crept even closer and eliminated any hope of capturing a colorful sunset. But, they staved off long enough for me to shoot the Miami skyline from the causeway over to Key Biscayne. We were really glad we didn’t opt to camp in the park. The storm had increa...I did m...
