Monday, 25 August 2008. Louie Giglio - Passion Conference Cape Town. Anyways, the reason I am talking about him is because he is also one of the speakers at the 'Passion Conferences'. From what I can gather, they have been running for years all over the world and even John Piper's spoke at a few! It ended up being such a great night and a genuinely spiritually uplifting experience! The Belleville Velodrome in Cape Town where the Passion Conference was held. I thought that they were great initiatives.

Saturday, 29 March 2008. Christmas Holiday Kids Club. We had such great fun learning from the bible, singing songs and playing games. Each kid also made at least 3 Christmas decorations to hang up. Jules teaching the kids how to make cardboard christmas trees; Ka showing the kids how to make christmas tree decorations (by sewing - eeek! They fed us fish paste sandwiches (I thought they were peanut butter! The kids were so excited when they opened their presents. Keep an eye out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

We were concerned about where the refugees would end up living and worried that they would be forcefully removed from the camp. Monday, 26 May 2008. Visiting a refugee camp. Over the last couple of weeks, the tensions between the South Africans and the foreigners have come to a head. The black South Africans have been accusing the foreign black Africans of stealing their jobs. In response, the South Africans have been looting their shops, raping the women, attacking people, even setting them alight in an attempt to drive them out. Around 50 have been killed so far. Making sandwiches; loads of food has come in from the locals.

Monday, 22 September 2008. It's official. We have booked our tickets and we are coming home for good! We will arrive in Sydney on the 29 December 2008. So we cant wait to share NYE with you all :). Our travel plans are to leave Cape Town around the 12 Dec and stay in Joburg for about a week to visit friends. Then we will head off to Hong Kong over Christmas to spend time with Chester's Dad and to gorge ourselves on dumplings and other yum cha treats that we have missed out on for 2 years.

Apr 26, 2010. Eek its a year. It is almost May 2010 and I forgot to even write my usual end of year entry or beginning of year promises. But I blame this on facebook. I feel I share enough of my life daily already in an almost "tweet" like manner (and no i don't tweet) so do I really need to share anymore? Does anyone really care? But as with every year there are new things : new relationships, new marriages, new engagements, new babies, new breakups, new revelations, new jobs, new insights.

Apr 16, 2009. Being a size bigger. Every 6 months or so, I have the compulsion to rearrange my wardrobe. I pull apart every thing, re-hang pants, skirts, shirts and rearrange so it's all nice and tidy. I also try my hardest to cull items that i don't wear anymore.
