Sibyl Harbinger's Blog. Books, Words, Crochet, Food, Dance, Life. May 17, 2012. Has come and gone. Expect a future post about all the lovely goodies I got this year. But I am currently at war over a ‘locked’ phone, which shouldn’t have been, and hoping to either get it unlocked or replaced. I will win this war. With the help of my Mummy. Friday, February 22, 2013. Spinning and Knitting Project: First Handspun Cowl. I'm excited to share with you my first completely finished project made with my own handspun yarn - a warm wool cowl. This project was a long time in the making, which makes the end result that much more satisfying. Here's the story of how this cowl came to be! I started with a 2-3 ounce skein of purple merino roving from CJ Kopec Creations. You can just see the purple roving waiting its turn on. The skein came with me to Fran...

The Woven Home: Knitting Projects: Cabled Hat

Thursday, January 31, 2013. Knitting Projects: Cabled Hat. This is a much more recent project, a hat made for my sister for Christmas. We were fortunate to have my family come visit us in France for Christmas - making the holidays away from home not just bearable, but an adventure! I had started this hat before these arrangements were made, however, so this gift was a bonus to my sister. I got the yarn (Bergere de France Idéal. My sister loved the hat, and it made many appearances in the photos we took i...

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Knitting Projects: Hat and Legwarmers. As predicted, a lot of time has passed since my last post. I've been crafting quite a bit, but have not been focused enough to photograph and document everything. Now I'm finally getting organized enough to share some things, with hopefully a few regular posts to come. Here are the patterns for both:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Woven Home: Crochet Projects: Baby Blanket
http://thewovenhome.blogspot.com/2013/01/crochet-projects-baby-blanket.html
Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Crochet Projects: Baby Blanket. I knew our nephew's bedroom would be nautical themed, so I chose a striped-ish pattern in nautical blue and white, with the gray to soften it a little. The blue stripe is off-set from the middle just a bit, which makes it a bit more interesting and modern. The pattern can be found here. You have to be a member of Bernat to see it). It looks like he's enjoying it! Photo cred goes to my brother-in-law). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Woven Home: Around Home: Moved to France!
http://thewovenhome.blogspot.com/2012/09/around-home-moved-to-france.html
Thursday, September 20, 2012. Around Home: Moved to France! This will be a quick post, mostly to tell everyone that the posts will probably slow down a little bit this school year. This is because my husband and I are staying in France from now (we've been here one week already) until the end of next May! I'll try to stop by when I can with crafty news or photos from France. For now, here's a couple photos from our first week here. The very friendly local cat. The cathedral St. Pierre in Montpellier.

Tea and ripple | Sibyl Harbinger's Blog

Sibyl Harbinger's Blog. Books, Words, Crochet, Food, Dance, Life. Birthday… →. May 4, 2012. I was going to take some more pictures today, but the clouds are grey and the weather dreary and miserable. I’m staying indoors as much as possible with a hot cup of tea and a blanket. So I added a new colour to my ripple. It’s to stretch over the bed and down the sides, so it is a nice, snuggly width. I am using Stylecraft Special DK and the pattern is from Attic 24. Isn’t it coming along nicely? Taking me throug...

Sibyl Harbinger's Blog. Books, Words, Crochet, Food, Dance, Life. The Samsung Saga and Hever Castle →. May 17, 2012. I thought I’d test out the phone anyway using the home wireless and see if I can take a picture of something and upload it, blog about it, and all without leaving the phone. In this case I’ve just started another cable hat for my Granny. She really liked the red one I did last year, which I gave to my mum. I need to make this one smaller however. She has a very small head. Easy makes me ha...
