KaramojAmanda: October 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 30, 2005. And I thought I wasn't going to see any. I was looking for a pic of my big tree, but was reminded this Sunday morning adventure last year instead. There's a snake in the Sunday school tree! The schoolboys are going to get it. (Lokwan, the littlest of them all, in up in the tree pushing it off its branch with a stick.). It was just a small one. Posted by Amanda at 6:50 AM. Tuesday, October 25, 2005. Now I can picture little girls sloshing water back in jerricans on their heads, w...

KaramojAmanda: June 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 07, 2005. For any readers from Rocky: Kris and her new bike! Posted by Amanda at 6:28 PM. Rose (and her son Tony), who is one of my heroes. She's probably not much older than me, but has been through a lot - last year she lost a baby and had brucellosis - but she is just one of the most genuinely nice and gracious people I know! Posted by Amanda at 6:07 PM. Growing sorghum - note the people weeding in the back, probably for the Work for Food diaconal program. Posted by Amanda at 6:00 PM.

KaramojAmanda: January 2006

Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Mama Chippa's youngest son, Achilla Benjamin or Chillun (? Posted by Amanda at 7:55 PM. Kids and ecoto (echoto), if that's the word for mud. Posted by Amanda at 7:50 PM. Monday, January 30, 2006. I just read this article about hunger in Africa. Fifty years ago, Africa was self-sustaining through agriculture. Now, not just because of drought but war and corruption and AIDS/HIV, 27 African countries have a hunger crisis. Posted by Amanda at 7:26 PM. Posted by Amanda at 7:08 PM.

KaramojAmanda: July 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 18, 2005. Uganda was colonized by the British, so all the public schools (somewhat unfortunately, in my opinion, at least for the younger grades) teach classes in English rather than whatever the kids' native languages are. This means that everyone who's been to school can speak at least a smattering of English, which is VERY convenient when you are not a quick learner of Karamojong! Anyway, I love how Ugandan English is definitely not American English. Only it sounds more like "howah YOU?

KaramojAmanda: September 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2005. They're back in Billings! Kris and Craig arrived at midnight, with about 30 of us from Rocky there to met 'em. It was nice because there weren't many other people waiting that late and we had the airport pretty much to ourselves! Anyway, it was SO. Good to see them. Lol, they looked a lot better after two days of travel than I did. I "just" saw them four months ago, compared to the ten months or so since everyone else (including their kids! Maybe I'll post some of it later.

KaramojAmanda: April 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 27, 2005. About to Head Out. I will be taking lots of digital pictures, but can't send them via e-mail from "the bush." My sister might be posting some pictures I took last summer, though, to give you a taste of what it's like there. Thanks for the encouragement and prayers! Hopefully I'll be arriving in Uganda in a couple days, so you'll get updates after that. :). Posted by Amanda at 11:00 AM. Green Karamoja May 2004. Posted by Amanda at 10:30 AM. KaramojAmanda: December 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 26, 2005. Thanks to a generous boss who gives Visa gift cards at Christmas, I just bought a book of conversations with Bono, lead singer of U2. We might not always agree, but Bono's passionate about Africa and about Jesus Christ, so expect some quotes here soon. ;). Anyway, I know I bring U2 up frequently considering that this is a blog about Karamoja. But for months I've wanted to post the lyrics to one of their songs, Yahweh. Click clacking down some dead end street. And make them fit.

KaramojAmanda: May 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 26, 2005. When I get back to the states, Dad, I'm already planning to buy milk every week for the fridge at work. I'm sure it will help me more productive! By the way, I am NOT looking forward to having to take another trip next week, but it should be fun when we get there - the plan is to stay at the ARA, and I think Amy might get to come with us, which will be cool because she's never been to Kampala just to hang out. But I'm pretty confident God has called me to be in Montana, so that he...

KaramojAmanda: August 2005
http://karamojamanda.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2005. I just kind of stood and stared at it in horror for a minute, debating whether to go ask Dave Okken to come kill it for me. But I couldn't bring myself to ask for help. (If only it were a snake! Of course, I couldn't possibly squish. So maybe I could stab it. I got a fork from the kitchen, and got pretty close to poking the spider with it, but the thought of spitting that thing was too awful. What if I missed? After that, a baby scorpion in my room seemed pretty tame. ;-). Sunflo...
