Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Step Into The Limelight. We discovered a real gem this past week in New York City. Limelight Marketplace at 656 6th Avenue near West 20th Street is a must visit if you love independent boutique-like shops and interesting architecture. The Marketplace has something for everyone including restaurants, bakeries and retail shops all nestled in a renovated 1840s church complete with gorgeous stained glass windows and Gothic limestone columns and arches. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. I'm Just Talking Turkey.Turkish Cuisine That Is! In the wintertime when the cold can seem so dreary and never ending I love to do something new and dine at restaurants which offer exotic recipes I've never eaten before. There is no better place to do this than in New York City where international dining is always an adventure and often at its best. On one snow blistered evening I found safe dining haven at the Turkish Kitchen on 3rd Avenue in Manhattan. That looks so yummy!

Monday, May 23, 2011. Rites of Spring - My Favorite Cake Recipe. While on a spring blogging break this past month I spent time going through all the recipes I have accumulated over the years. What treasures I found! Yummy delights from aunts, uncles, friends and colleagues filling up my very swollen recipe box. I decided to pick out the very best ones to include in a recipe book I am creating for my children to savour. This truly was the most enjoyable spring cleaning I've ever done! 1 tsp baking powder.

March 16, 2012. I think that Earth day is a very important holiday that needs to be recognized more! Yes, we recycle and reuse plastic bags once in while, but that really does not do much to help. Littering is huge problem that is very detrimental to our planet. We need to fix this problem and it’s easy to fix! Instead of throwing that wrapper on the ground thinking that nothing bad will happen, why not throw it in a trash can where it is properly disposed of? February 28, 2012. February 14, 2012. This i...

Emily Lang and Doug Clark | March 8, 2014 | Richmond, VA
March 8, 2014 Richmond, VA. If it's love and we're two birds of a feather then the rest is just whatever. The first time we heard Train's If It's Love (click to watch on YouTube). We knew it would be our song. Nearly two years later, the majority of these lyrics still echo true (except the part about the ten kids). Until next time, we love you all. The Two Birds of a Feather, Emily and Doug. 2013 - 2015 Doug Clark / Rockitt Hill, LLC. Made with love and care for the one I love ♥.

April 11, 2014. Sweet, short crust wrapped around gooey, slightly bourbon-ey caramel, studded with toasted pecans. Totally sweet, totally indulgent, total perfection. So this one uses Golden Syrup – Corn Syrup’s dark brown British (and Australian, and New Zealand) cousin. If you’re making this in America, and can’t find Golden Syrup (as I understand, it’s not easy to come by) then substitute in traditional corn syrup. Done. Easy. Perhaps it’ll help comfort you too? Pecan Pie – Makes 1 24 cm pie. To make ...
