Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Greetings from a rainy afternoon. It's been threatening rain for a week now with barely a drizzle so I thought I'd hang some laundry to dry, and of course, it rains! Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Creativity, a way of being. An overcast morning here, and cool enough for the furnace to come on. Still, I'm grateful for a long spring, happy to wait for the heat that give's Kentville its nickname of "Hell's Kitchen". Little did we know when we moved here that the Annapolis Valley retains the heat like a stainless steel bowl. A sunny morning the other day made for some fun shots through the Venetian blinds. Saturday, July 25, 2015. Wildflower walk around the hayfield. I'm so grateful today as I write this. On Monday I fell against the kitchen counter, my foot asleep, and slammed my arm and wrist, saving myself from a complete fall. I twisted my ankle, barely saving it from a fracture. Ouch! I got my foot up, slatherered in Arnica cream, and then remembered to put on a bandage with castor oil, both old-time healers. Muji is more concerned about being cuddled than my foot, believe me. And these cinque foile.

The photo above is of my newest sculpture "Sunny Mama" carved in orange calcite. When the sunlight shines through her she is translucent and glows! Thursday, December 13, 2012. As the winter solstice approaches. Also when I found out about the arrival of a friend/co-worker's baby boy I had to make a baby blanket with his name Jasper on it! Excuse the photo it should be upright. And of course the cool weather got me knitting a scarf. I find knitting very relaxing although I just started last year and I don't know any fancy stitching but I have lots of time to learn. For now I'm just enjoying keeping it simple. I spent weekends cleaning out my old room and found the stone ring I had made and lost in my messy room, happy to have it back! I took old nature art that I had made long ago and had been on the walls for too long and I put them in the compost pile, this was strangely therapeutic to purge this way. Hope they found good homes.
