http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2012/04/hola-bonjourno-howdy-hi.html
Saturday, April 7, 2012. Hola, bonjourno, howdy, and hi. 1) Who is Feaux? Feaux is Bobbi. Or Bobbi is Feaux…I’m not sure which is proper. C’est moi:. I'm a thirty-something new [working] mom who loves food, family, and writing about both. 2) What do you do? I’m a geologist/environmental scientist. When I lived in Louisiana, I dealt mainly in wetlands, and oil and gas exploration. Now I deal primarily with leaking petroleum sites, and karst (aka caves). 3) Why do you blog? 4) What do you LOVE? So there yo...

Thursday, August 6, 2015. And you somehow manage to not cook a single "real" meal all week, aside from a doctored up Hamburger Helper on Monday, and you forget to do any kind of lunch prep over the weekend. ( And maybe everyone else but you raises their hand during baby class when the instructor asks who already has their car seat installed. *sigh*). Breakfast -8:30a (the second one, which baby was apparently okay with. A PB sandwich on multigrain. Afternoon Snack(s) - 2p-4:30p:. 11p - Split a Samoa donut.

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: Thirsty Thursday: Watermelon Margaritas (Virgin or Non)
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2015/07/thirsty-thursday-watermelon-margaritas.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Thirsty Thursday: Watermelon Margaritas (Virgin or Non). Question: Do you sprinkle salt or sugar on your watermelon? My grandma always did salt, but the Hubs tells me he's only seen people sprinkle sugar. That just seems silly- watermelon is usually plenty sweet, and the salt makes that sweetness really pop. If you've got a watermelon addiction like me, or need to use up a bunch of melon before it starts to go south- here's an awesome option to help beat the summertime heat!

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: Bonus recipe: Pumpkin Cranberry Scones
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2011/11/scones-will-forever-always-remind-me-of.html
Saturday, November 19, 2011. Bonus recipe: Pumpkin Cranberry Scones. Scones will forever and always remind me of the year I lived in New Orleans, thanks to Maurice’s bakery. Let’s travel back in time, shall we? To 2004: I was a post-grad student at University of New Orleans, working part time as a grad assistant on campus, and part-time as a gourmet foods associate (read: cheese monger) at Martin’s Wine Cellar. Found a base recipe, and with a few modifications, we have this:. 3 cups all-purpose flour.

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: Future Mommy Ponderings
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2015/07/future-mommy-ponderings.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. Will I talk about homemade baby food and DIY-nursery projects and adorable anecdotes? Will it be the place I come to try and humorously vent about 2am feedings and diaper explosions? Or will I be so completely overwhelmed that I forget I ever even had a blog? You realize there's no 'e' in 'faux', right? What kind of mom will I be? Or maybe I'll love him to bits but accidentally swaddle him to death. *shrugs*. August 8, 2015 at 7:00 PM. Youll be an awesome mom, I just know it!

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: Homemade Granola, and a Fruit & Yogurt Parfait!
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2012/01/homemade-granola-and-fruit-yogurt.html
Saturday, January 21, 2012. Homemade Granola, and a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait! I love sleep. Which is why it’s probably a good thing that I’m a pretty low maintenance gal. On weekdays I sleep in as long as possible, then after the 3rd or 4th Snooze button, I crawl out of bed, slink into the shower, and hope the hot water will help me wake up. My morning routine is about 30 minutes from getting up to getting out of the house. Oh, and coffee. Every day. Of course. I have this magnet on my fridge.). A 32-oz ...

The FeauxCajun Kitchen: December 2014
http://feauxcajun.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 6, 2014. I had a pretty productive today today…of course, not like “cleaning the house” or “mowing the yard” productive. Instead, I made two new ornaments for our fabulous new Christmas tree. Yup—I finally got to upgrade from our little scraggy 5-foot tree, to a beautiful, full, PRE-LIT-WITH-1000 -LIGHTS tree that I got at a thrift store for $100. SO happy. Well, when you add 2.5 feet to your tree…you need more ornaments, amirite? Styrofoam ornament (48c at WalMart). Then I took a blan...

Sunday, November 30, 2014. One packet of small-batch pectin. 1 1/3 Cups cranberries. 1 Cup of crushed pineapple with juice. 1 Tablespoon orange juice. 1/2 Tablespoons orange zest. 3/4 Cup sugar (to taste—I like my jam to be a little tart). One sterilized pint jar (I use. Pretty easy stuff- combine the cranberries, pineapple, juice, zest, nutmeg, sugar, and pectin in a pot and stir over low heat. Continue stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil. Makes a mean PB and J! While I lov...
