Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Several years ago I purchased a large quantity of hot yellow yarn on clearance. And the leftover (I still have a ton) Banana yarn from the Easter Egg Blanket. And started looking through patterns. I wanted the colors to really blend together instead of being obvious stripes. Engineered Crochet: Charcoal Blanket

http://engineeredcrochet.blogspot.com/2014/03/charcoal-blanket.html

Wednesday, March 12, 2014. I like to give blankets as wedding presents, so it would make sense that my friend since kindergarten, who happens to be married, would have a blanket from me. Well, she didn't because she got married over 8 years ago, when I didn't know how to crochet. So I decided to give her one for Christmas this year. I don't know what she was thought about my weird text of 'What's your favorite color? But she responded 'Gray'. When I saw that, I went hmmmmmm. What to do with that? I welco...

Engineered Crochet: Sunshine Blanket

http://engineeredcrochet.blogspot.com/2013/03/sunshine-blanket.html

Tuesday, March 26, 2013. When I planned this blanket, I forgot one very important detail: stitch 2. Doesn't expand like most stitches. Consequently, I didn't chain enough at the beginning to make it an acceptable width. To fix this, I simply made the border extra wide. Despite this foible, I am happy with the result. Here's what I did:. Chain 167, then work stitch 2. Until work reaches desired length. Add this border:. Round 1: sc around, 3 sc in each corner. Round 2: dc around, 5 dc in each corner.

Engineered Crochet: Sunny Shells Blanket

http://engineeredcrochet.blogspot.com/2014/03/sunny-shells-blanket.html

Sunday, March 16, 2014. Variegated yarn is tricky to combine with other yarn. Anyway, last year I made the Sunshine Blanket. Because it is awesome for variegated yarn, and practically mindless. Chain 187, then work stitch 28. Until work reaches desired length. Add this border to finish. Round 1: sc around, 3 sc in each corner. Round 2: dc around, 5 dc in each corner. Round 3: sc around, 3 sc in each corner. Round 4: sc around, 3 sc in each corner. Round 5: dc around, 5 dc in each corner. I learned to cro...

Engineered Crochet: Shiny Mint Blanket

http://engineeredcrochet.blogspot.com/2014/03/shiny-mint-blanket.html

Thursday, March 20, 2014. So, I had this general idea of a design in my head, but nothing specific. Then I looked around and noticed a blanket I had started months earlier but hadn't finished. It was perfect. The color was right. Also, I know that in Texas a really warm blanket is not desired. So using Simply Soft instead of my usual I Love this Yarn brand would work great. Simply Soft is. Soft and has somewhat metallic sheen to it. I decided to use stitch 23. Round 1: sc around, 3 sc in each corner.

Engineered Crochet: Zipper Blanket

http://engineeredcrochet.blogspot.com/2012/05/zipper-blanket.html

Friday, May 25, 2012. Here's how I made this:. Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, dc across (yellow). Row 2-6: ch 3, turn, dc across (yellow). Row 7: ch 2, turn, (fpdc, bpdc) across, hdc in last stitch (purple). Row 8: ch 2, turn, (fpdc, bpdc) across, hdc in last stitch (brown). Repeat rows 2-8 for the pattern, ending with a block of yellow, changing colors in this order (yellow, purple, brown). Round 1: (fpdc, bpdc) around, 3 hdc in corner (purple). Mama Nettie's Crochet: June 2012

http://mamanettiescrochet.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Lovely Lace Pattern Stitch. I saw a beautiful cardigan on a lady at church on Sunday and thought, I need to try to make a stitch that is similar to that! The fabric of her cardigan was crocheted pentagons which was beautiful and definitely doable, but this is the first pattern that came to me, and I think it's really pretty and worth sharing! Chain multiple of 4 1. Row 1: hdc in 3. Ch from hook, hdc across. Row 6: ch 2, turn, hdc in sc, (ch 4, sk sc, 2 hdc in sc) across. When work...

Mama Nettie's Crochet: Just a little blip

http://mamanettiescrochet.blogspot.com/2012/07/just-little-blip.html

Monday, July 30, 2012. Just a little blip. I know I've been a bit out of touch. I'm dealing with a few health issues. I'm sure that we'll talk more about them later on, but for now let's just say that I've fallen into the "Mommy Trap" and haven't been taking as good of care of myself as I should have been, so my immune system is not on track. The doctor has put me on an almost 100% Super Foods Diet! I think I'm going to start using this technique! Hi I'm Mama Nettie! July 31, 2012 at 10:23 PM.

Mama Nettie's Crochet: May 2012

http://mamanettiescrochet.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 31, 2012. Well, we are still under the weather, but in a different fashion. The pink eye has finally left us but we have come down with a nasty cold, so, sadly, we are still under quarantine. I've been so sick, and then with sick kiddos to care for it's been quite challenging. I just haven't been up to doing anything by the time I get to sit down in the evenings. The Dance Recital* * *. It was so wonderful! B danced her little tush off! It was SO GREAT! My beautiful girl after the Recital!
