Jason's Iraq Vacation: November 2006
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 19, 2006. Pursuant to Presidential Executive order of 14 Sep 2001, you are relieved (haha! From your present reserve status and ordered to report for a period of Active Duty . . . . not to exceed 545 days, unless extended or terminated by proper authority". Those words turned an ordinary day upside down and threw my quasi-normal life out the window. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 10th Mountain and IRR. Please sign my guestbook! Jason's Iraq Vacation: October 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 30, 2007. The sensory overload was making my head spin, but I had to get control of the situation, so I stepped back for a second and just kinda laughed to myself. This is typical, I thought to myself. A typical meeting with a typical Iraqi self-appointed bigshot. I think that's Australian for good. If any of my Aussie readers wanna correct me, please do! Links to this post. Friday, October 26, 2007. My very own AFN Commercial. That doesn't even make any sense! And elsewhere for families).

Jason's Iraq Vacation: July 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 27, 2007. Links to this post. Saturday, July 21, 2007. Ughhh . . . I groan and roll over to look at my clock. It's 3:15am, and the Artillery detachment is sending out some care packages to our boys outside the wire. No surprise there; the artillery men send out their lovin' every night, and since we are almost right next to them I get to hear every round up close and personal. The only question is what time and how often. The nightly barrage goes on. All personnel take cover! The other night...

Jason's Iraq Vacation: June 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 28, 2007. The Media and Congress. What I wouldn't give to be a member of our esteemed media or congress, because if I were, I would get to write articles like this: Report: Iraqi force training producing 'mixed results'. Of course you are - I still don't even know what the hell I'm doing and I've been here over 2 months! Wow, you've seen that over the last few days! Instead, this media article, like so many others, seems to be written to further fuel anti-war sentiment and public opinion&#...

Jason's Iraq Vacation: September 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 28, 2007. Errors have been made. Others will be blamed. The title of this blog comes from a list of quotes I have hanging near my desk. The quotes are funny and amusing, but, sadly, too many of them seem applicable. Like this one: "Chaos, panic, and disorder - my work here is done." Why does this seem both funny AND relevant? For the full list of these hilarious phrases, click here. Links to this post. Friday, September 21, 2007. Time keeps on tickin'. So what does this mean to us?

Jason's Iraq Vacation: March 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2007. I will recap this week in more depth on Sunday, and I think I am going to add a quote of the day section soon, because people say some hilarious stuff during training. Thanks again for all your support! Links to this post. Sunday, March 25, 2007. Last week actually went pretty fast. It started off as usual - too soon and too early! The weekend was great because my uncle Eddie drove over 7 hours from Denver to visit me. It was great to see him and a familiar face! That he took t...

Jason's Iraq Vacation: April 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 22, 2007. No Time . . Who sings that song? Growing up, my mother loved to play the "radio game" with me; the game was simply scrolling the radio dial and identifying the artist singing the current song. I used to hate when The Guess Who came on, because I would ask about 30 times who it was and my mom just kept saying "Guess Who”? The wrestling show was good; I've never seen a live wrestling event and I was impressed at the athleticism of those guys. The final event was a 4-way tag team...

Jason's Iraq Vacation: February 2007
http://jasonirrdeployment.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 28, 2007. I had several fears when I learned that I would be going to Iraq with a reserve unit, based mostly upon misconceptions formed when I was on Active Duty. Two of the biggest fears I had were that we would be using old, 1980s style equipment and that the unit wouldn’t know its ass from a hole in the ground. The last two weeks have put these fears soundly to bed. My rifle is mounted with a laser sight/scope, and I was also issued body armor (which weighs about 50 lbs), camelback...
