sometimes wendy darling: Ottolenghi's Surprise Tatin, Mostly

http://estibrennan.blogspot.com/2012/11/ottolenghis-surprise-tatin-mostly.html

Thursday, November 29, 2012. Ottolenghi's Surprise Tatin, Mostly. Over the last two weeks, I've made four different vegetable pies/tarts either directly out of or based on recipes from Yotam Ottolenghi's spectacular cookbook, Plenty. Note on the photo: I forgot to add the herbs before the potatoes, so they're hiding underneath. It would look much nicer if they were on top.). Surprise tatin modified recipe. 2/3 cup sundried tomatoes in oil, drained. 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced. 1 small onion, diced.

sometimes wendy darling: Moonrise Kingdom

http://estibrennan.blogspot.com/2012/07/moonrise-kingdom.html

Monday, July 16, 2012. Hey, Good Lookin' by Hank Williams. We can probably assume that Hank Williams will now get trendy with the young ones, thanks to this film. Maybe also Françoise Hardy. I'm hoping the floral smocks and fantastic eyewear also catch on. It was a lovely film. I got to flatter myself by seeing a lot of me-at-12 in Suzy (I mean, running away with a suitcase full of hardbacks? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Almost entirely recipes, with occasional forays into clothes and photos.

sometimes wendy darling: artichoke and roasted garlic dip

http://estibrennan.blogspot.com/2013/05/artichoke-and-roasted-garlic-dip.html

Saturday, May 4, 2013. Artichoke and roasted garlic dip. This stuff is so good that I couldn't even get a picture before people swarmed in and ate it. I found this recipe while trying to think of something to do with roasted garlic that was not 'eat it with a spoon because it's magically delicious.' Original is here. But I modified it quite a bit. Artichoke and Roasted Garlic Dip. 1 can artichoke hearts, diced. 2-4 green onions, sliced thin. 8 oz mascarpone cheese. 1/2-2/3 cup sharp cheddar (or similar).

sometimes wendy darling: spicy spinach pesto

http://estibrennan.blogspot.com/2011/09/spicy-spinach-pesto.html

Sunday, September 25, 2011. This recipe is entirely my own, and entirely the result of having a large bag of spinach that wasn't going to last much longer. It's also one of my 25 recipes. Even though I've stopped pretending I'm actually going to finish that. Probably should have put more thought into the list, because some of it just isn't practical for me to make on my own. 2-3 cups loosely packed spinach leaves, rinsed and dried. Handful of fresh basil leaves (as many as your plant can spare). Almost e...

sometimes wendy darling: Sós Stangli (Hungarian Cheese Sticks)

http://estibrennan.blogspot.com/2014/02/sos-stangli-hungarian-cheese-sticks.html

Friday, February 21, 2014. Sós Stangli (Hungarian Cheese Sticks). In my family, these cheese sticks were as omnipresent as. well, whatever normal kids eat all the time. Apples? Sós Stangli (Hungarian Cheese Sticks). 2 cups fine grated cheddar cheese, divided. 1/4 tsp baking powder. Pinch each garlic powder and white pepper. 8 oz sour cream. Again, started with a spatula, ended up using my hands. Because mucking about in dough is fun. Labels: appetizers and sides. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Goulu...

Week 10: Class Reflection. Last week was one-shot workshop week in class, and I have to say that everyone in my group taught me something totally new. so clearly they were a success! Our 'icebreaker' went over extremely well. because it involved construction paper. People made some awesome signs to alert patrons to the ebook situation, and we posted a few of them in the SI lounge after class, to remind our friends and classmates that books do still matter (do I sound bitter? Week 8: Class Reflection. Apparently I love book clubs! Especially because two of the stories assigned to my group, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" and "Murder and Suicide, Respectively," were two I was really hoping to be able to discuss.
