Heather Lambie | Self Editing: London, Days 5 & 6
http://heatherlambie.blogspot.com/2011/07/days-5-6.html
Sunday, July 10, 2011. London, Days 5 and 6. And my husband astutely responded, "Ask your mother.". I love that our family is so open and liberal that it was easy for me to answer, "It's when girls like girls instead of boys." My son said, "Oh," and that was the end of the conversation. My daughter- on a mission for a new pair of earrings- found a booth rife with nose, eyebrow and other rings for body parts. Since they were all singles she shouted, "Mom! My sage son said, "See Mom? We popped in and to my...

http://heatherlambie.blogspot.com/2013/09/pickin-at-worlds-longest-yard-sale.html
Saturday, September 7, 2013. Pickin' at the World's Longest Yard Sale. As an end-of-summer family vacay (the first week of August) I packed up my kids and husband- a huge American Pickers. Fan- and took them to the 127 Sale, also known as The World's Longest Yard Sale. For those who've never heard of it, this is a yard sale that travels along Hwy. 127 through five states: Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio and Michigan. It is best summed up in this quote:. Turtle shells and armadillo carcases for sale!

Sunday, December 15, 2013. The Universe works in mysterious ways. Last week, in an attempt to jokingly, publicly shame myself, I posted a blog that included an angry email I sent to someone. I mocked myself in this blog (or so I thought) for my own bad behavior and thanked my friends for loving me despite my sometimes impatient and inappropriate ways. From New York and just 25 years old, Megan Falley. But I particularly love her performance of her poem Fat Girl. Which she did for the class. I’m sor...

There is no easy way to give a Cliff Notes version as to why, so in the interest of time and energy I'll just say, I'm sorry I've been away and I hope you'll forgive me and come back to reading this blog. I'm going to try to begin posting more frequently again. National Blog Posting Month) which is a blogger's version of NaNoWriMo. I'd taken to drin...

http://heatherlambie.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 8, 2013. I survived "The Talk" with my pre-teen! A few days ago as our family walked through Busch Gardens theme park, my 10-year-old son casually asked me, “Mom, what’s the difference between sex and pregnancy? I had always said I would have “The Talk” with my kids when they turned 10—double digits—because that’s about when the hormones begin and when they start hearing about it from their friends. I have purposefully misspelled several words in this blog entry so that protective Internet f...

Tuesday, February 19, 2013. 21 Questions to Ask Your Kids. Long before blogging was a thing, I was “blogging” with pen and paper. I remember receiving my first diary as a gift when I was six years old. It was light blue with a Holly Hobby-esque girl on the front complete with a Little House on the Prairie. I still keep dairies today; only I call them journals now (more grown up, don’t you think? What is something Mommy always says to you? L: Don’t put your feet on the couch! M: Walk your dog! L: Helping ...
