I enjoy teaching students the engineering process, building, and programming using the LEGO Mindstorms kits. I currently am running an exploratory course for middle school students and have developed the following sequence of challenges for them to follow as they learn basic programming. I have used variations of this sequence to train students (and their coaches) to solve FIRST LEGO League related challenges. The files were written in LEGO Mindstorms Software v2.0. Challenge Set 1: Basic Motor control.

The search for better teaching. And I am going back…. Cup Stacking →. PBL and Math Class. May 12, 2016. The Director of Innovative Teaching and Learning Director at my school sent me a Twitter message the other day about PBL and math. His honest question got me thinking and writing, and although I started using the response box on Twitter, my response got so long that I began a document so I would not lose it all if something happened. Much of my influence on the topic comes from Dan Meyer. Show up later...

But as an educated math educator, it is anti-progress, and shamefully, it is my default at times. I must get better than this. And yet, here comes tomorrow…. Notify me of new co...
