Fabric and Flowers in Texas: God Rest Her Soul

http://fabricandflowersintexas.blogspot.com/2010/09/god-rest-her-soul.html

Fabric and Flowers in Texas. This is where I log my fun with fabric and flowers. Saturday, September 18, 2010. God Rest Her Soul. Here is my new beauty. It was a huge decision. I tried a less expensive Janome but I'm a Bernina girl. And, you know they have that 830 which sells for $6,000 dollars. That is just crazy, but if I had $6,000 under my mattress I would have spent it on that machine. I love my new machine. I feel so fortunate to be able to have such a beauty. The Bird of Paradise is blooming!

Fabric and Flowers in Texas: Guiltless Nine Patch

http://fabricandflowersintexas.blogspot.com/2011/07/guiltless-nine-patch.html

Fabric and Flowers in Texas. This is where I log my fun with fabric and flowers. Sunday, July 31, 2011. The blocks are so quick and rewarding. It's cheap fun. The hum of the sewing machine soothes. I'm spacing out the blocks on my design wall with space between which will be a simple piece of white. Machine binding was on the list of things to concur during my vacation. I finished up the Aster Manor Disappearing Nine Patch. It has found its place under the cat. Have a restful Sunday! Ok now I see the whi...

Fabric and Flowers in Texas: New Year's Refocus

http://fabricandflowersintexas.blogspot.com/2015/01/new-years-refocus.html

Fabric and Flowers in Texas. This is where I log my fun with fabric and flowers. Thursday, January 1, 2015. This orchid cactus bloom has been promising to arrive for quite a while. This picture isn't good. It is actually a large almost bloom. I was hoping it would emerge on New Year's day because it reminds me of the promise of new things. New year, new experiences, new hopes/wishes. I succumbed to a sew along. Aiming for Accuracy. She seems so sweet. Until she eats all my plants. Wool Applique- Yet Anot...

Fabric and Flowers in Texas: Path for 2014

http://fabricandflowersintexas.blogspot.com/2014/01/path-for-2014.html

Fabric and Flowers in Texas. This is where I log my fun with fabric and flowers. Sunday, January 5, 2014. My leader and ender project has been using my Accuquilt for half square triangles. The long range goal is a Lady of the Lake or Oceans Wave quilt. The pattern said something like 800 squares. I have several hundred done. It is amazing how quickly they add up. This is my first attempt at sewing all the squares and triangles together to make a block. Now on to some accountability for myself. Looks beau...

Little Flower: March 2013

http://helly5.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 25 March 2013. BaD Blocks this week. It's a very quick post from me today, as there are electricity workers in our street and our power will be going off any minute now for 6 hours. Nooooo! I have lots of bookkeeping to do but it needs electricity. I will just have to visit the library and then get on with a bit of hand sewing :). Here are my block a day challenge blocks - deeper green this week. Labels: Block A Day Challenge 2013. Sunday, 17 March 2013. Green for St Patrick's Day! Labels: Block ...

Thursday, 27 December 2012. Days 353 to 362/366. We are getting near the end of our challenge and I have obviously lost count of which day is which. I think I have the correct days now. better late than never. My home baked Christmas gifts of Almond Shortbread and Mini Christmas cakes. Here I am at the office of one of my clients with my basket of goodies. I bought this ornament last year in honour of my daughter's performances the Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker. A much cooler day and perfect to do som...

Little Flower: Final colour of my big BaD Blocks

http://helly5.blogspot.com/2013/04/final-colour-of-my-big-bad-blocks.html

Monday, 29 April 2013. Final colour of my big BaD Blocks. This is the last of the colours/shades of my daughter's leaving home quilt. I am undecided on the smaller border blocks now as the quilt may be big enough without them. I'm off to our local patchwork shop, where my dear friend works, to have a look at a background fabric she thinks might suit. After I have seen that I will decide on the next step. Labels: Block A Day Challenge 2013. 2 May 2013 at 19:44. Good on you Helen! 366 day photo challenge.

Little Flower: Blue BaD blocks

http://helly5.blogspot.com/2013/04/blue-bad-blocks.html

Monday, 8 April 2013. I've been working on the blue tones and found it very hard going on my eyes as my cutting board is blue and the lines on my ruler are blue too! Not very good planning on my part. This is a short post as I am about to start a very crazy day of work, 2 dental appointments (yes, 2 ), a quick lunch with my best friend, a webinar and then a much needed yoga class to calm the mind, body and spirit. Labels: Block A Day Challenge 2013. 8 April 2013 at 20:41. 366 day photo challenge.

Little Flower: November 2012

http://helly5.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Monday, 26 November 2012. Days 319 to 331/366. I am sorry that I have been offline for the past couple of weeks. We have had a lot of family things happening, good and bad. Some days I didn't get the opportunity to take a photo, but here's what I did take;. This is the flower of the Cunjevoi. Plant that grows prolifically in our neighborhood as we have an area of rainforest nearby that runs down to the beach. They produce these yellow flowers and the spike then develops red berries that the birds love.

Little Flower: January 2013

http://helly5.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, 31 January 2013. I have been offline for quite a few days since the wild storms that hit the Mid North Coast on the weekend. Our telephone and internet services were out of order and a call for help was placed to the telephone company. We were on the list for repairs and then this morning we discovered it had fixed itself! I have decided to join a new challenge hosted by Robyn of Daisy Quilts. I still haven't quite decided what block to make, but I do have some ideas forming. It's Summer time h...

Cajun Girl Quilts: It's Just Fabric!

http://cajungirlquilts.blogspot.com/2011/07/its-just-fabric.html

Saturday, July 9, 2011. I'm the kind of person that likes to save things. I don't know why, but if I get something I really like, I almost feel afraid to use it. I was thinking about my hollow blocks quilt, and I thought that some little pieces of orange dot fabric would look so cute randomly placed around the quilt. I had the perfect piece of fabric, but no! It goes with THAT line of fabric. What if I need it later? Then I told myself that it was just fabric, and if I want to, I should just use it!

http://helly5.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Friday, 17 August 2012. We are taking a little holiday and then I have my Mum's 70th birthday and some overseas family visiting so I will not be able to post my photos for a couple of weeks. I will keeping on taking my photos and post them when life returns to it's normal frantic pace :). Labels: 366 day photo challenge. Sunday, 12 August 2012. Fabric and Flowers in Texas

Fabric and Flowers in Texas. This is where I log my fun with fabric and flowers. Monday, April 17, 2017. II visited my best and longest friend. We were college roommates. Our friendship has lasted 35 years. Man have we been through a lot! Below are 2 of her quilts she inherited. She isn't a quilter. I think they are fabulous! And I admit to being jealous. I'm going to research this pattern. Sunbonnet Sam? Look at this one! I love the orange. Very modern. That's my quick update via iPad. First off, I'm go...
