Hi, I am Janette Ryan-Busch. I was raised on a farm in Southeast Iowa. Farming and animals are in my blood. A Toggenburg dairy goat was just one of the many pets in my childhood menagerie.

Certified Organic Herbs and Vegetables. Each summer, the gardens here at Fae Ridge are filled with certified organic flowers, herbs, and vegetables. Herbs are picked fresh upon request all summer and each weekend the store’s refrigerator is filled with in-season produce. Each spring brings lambing and kidding season to the farm. Watching fiber babies dancing on the hillsides or sleeping in the sun is a wonderful affirmation that spring is coming. It has taken many months of planning and a lot of work to get these precious babies here each spring. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. I have been getting up early to do the outside work and spending the heat of the day inside.I spent the last week dyeing fiber for the two new fiber blends ready to go to the carder. This past weekend was the annual natural dye retreat here at the farm. We had a great weekend creating over well over 100 dye samples, plus some amazing eco steam prints. Saturday, August 15, 2015. August Heat is Here. Friday, August 7, 2015. August at the farm. Gardens and bunnies are growing like mad and the weather in Iowa is absolutly perfect. On Tuesday we filled the barn with hay. A barn of sweet smelling hay is food security and one of the greatest feelings for a farmer this time of year. The prairie plant that were tiny plugs in 2013 are thriving and in bloom. I can't wait to see the switch grass as it turns to the tawny color of autumn. Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
