Porter Post: February 2015
http://porterfamilypost.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 23, 2015. Jack and Ben say both "yes" and "no" plenty, but Ben makes me smile most with "yes" and Jack makes me smile most with "no.". My favorite times when Jack says no are when he's too tired to fight us physically before bed, but too stubborn to let us put him in his crib right away without throwing a fit. I cradle him in my arms with his blanky all wrapped around him, I rub our noses together, I kiss his cheeks, and I whisper to him. Me: "Jackson, I love you.". Jayce and Sarah Porter.

Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Some reasons we love this backyard. Picking on our brothers, apparently. Because the mountains are RIGHT THERE. We can play all kinds of ways. It's even great in the rain. Jayce and Sarah Porter. Sunday, September 7, 2014. So, I've been feeling like I needed to journal/blog about my friend Brennan for a while now, but didn't really know what to say. I don't have anything super profound to offer, but I just wanted to record this experience. Brennan also had a really sweet se...

Monday, April 7, 2014. These are all of my boys. I quite like them. Benson and Jackson have been starting to play with each other more and more, for better and for worse. It's adorable to watch them interact, but they do tend to get under each other's skin. What does that hair feel like? Should I grab it? I should definitely grab it. Benson has two eyeballs? Let me just check and see that they're real. I love this toy in my hands, I could play with this all day long! Oh, Jack has a toy? We were married o...

Sunday, August 2, 2015. Time with the Boys! Sarah was able to get a much needed and deserved vacation away to see her family on the east coast, which allowed me(Jayce) to have almost a full week alone with the boys. It was an emotional roller coaster but still a whole lot of fun! It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. :) These experiences make me appreciate and admire the work that moms do everyday. Sarah is great and does an amazing job as a mother! She left me a little note before she left.

Sunday, July 26, 2015. The mountains are a huge part of getting your bearings in Utah. In Virginia you feel like you're in a jungle, even on the highway, but I like it. Even hearing the cicadas was a comforting sound. My old elementary school where my mom still teaches! I had to take this picture to try to capture what I mean about Virginia dripping with green. Best for last. Obviously the best part about my stay in Virginia was the people. Burt was the only one able to out-do her. Holy hair, right?

Sunday, June 28, 2015. Women and the Priesthood by Sheri Dew. I just finished reading Sheri Dew's book, Women and the Priesthood. And thought it was great. I've become a Sheri Dew fan after reading two of her latest books. I highly recommend this one. I plan on reading it again sometime because there is a lot more I can learn and relearn from it. It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you talk to may one day be...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Jayce has had an amazing schedule with the doctor he has rotated with this month. Beyond amazing. He has been home by noon almost every single day, which means that he has had a lot more study time to prepare for his upcoming shelf exam AND we have gotten more quality Daddy time. This lunch at the park was one of my favorites this month. The boys all got sunglasses in their Easter baskets (! Jayce and Sarah Porter. Jackson the Hands-On Helper. Jayce and Sarah Porter. Friday, March 27, 2015. I have gone from trying to run on zero, to feeling like I'm up to my eyeballs in blessings! I don't often use exclamation marks, but get ready for several in this post.) I'm still the same person, I still have three toddlers, my house is still messy, I'm still cleaning up throw up (Jack and Ben just started), but I'm bursting at the seams with happiness and gratitude. Reason #1: A few weeks ago my sister-in-law (fist bump Lindsey! Their main focus is on "deliberate motherhood" whi...

Sunday, May 24, 2015. Mammoth Medical Missions - Chiapas, Mexico 2015. I(Jayce) traveled to Chiapas, Mexico in May with a group called Mammoth Medical Missions. The purpose of the group is to respond to disaster situations in need of medical help as a fast and light civilian forward surgical team. They are based out of Mammoth lakes, California. I'm extremely grateful to have crossed paths with this group. They are effective, efficient, and doing a lot of good wherever they go. I love mexican food! I can...
