The Farmer's Wife Day by Day.

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day. Monday, 17 August 2015. Off to Market we Go. I won't go into the various odours! Needless to say it is a pretty male dominated environment as well. This trip has normally been a bit of a family outing with cousins and friends coming along. Today only Kate was free to go and I went along to keep her company. Choosing the right sheep, bidding for them, paying for them and loading them is no mean feat when you are not even 21 but she did brilliantly. Or maybe a mature ewe.

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day.: Walking the Cows

http://www.farmerswifedaybyday.blogspot.com/2015/08/walking-cows.html

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day. Sunday, 16 August 2015. The follow up to the cows escaping from their field yesterday was that we decided to move them to another field. The cows were lead up the field and along a lane. Ahhh could this be the ideal opportunity for no. 3 on The summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt. A person leading a dog or other animal. The cows are very inquisitive and took a lot of interest in me waiting in the Land Rover either looking in the back. Or trying through the window! An Ameri...

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day.: Harvesting the Barley

http://www.farmerswifedaybyday.blogspot.com/2015/08/harvesting-barley.html

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day. Saturday, 8 August 2015. The barley is now ripe and ready to cut. The Combine Harvester has been working for the last few days. We have been waiting for the weather to improve and this sunny wearther is ideal to ensure the grain and straw is dry. Here the barley is being cut on the left and the potato crop is growing on the right. The whole of the grain and stem is cut by the combine. The stem or straw as it is now termed is deposited out of the back. 8 August 2015 at 19:28.

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day. Sunday, 9 August 2015. One Photo and Twenty Words: Harvest Time. Joining in Abi's meme today. Harvest time is busy time. Big tractors rushing everywhere. Best thing is if I just sit here to supervise activities. 10 August 2015 at 00:08. Thanks for the big smile Maggie! The caption came up before the photo loaded and it was perfect timing! 10 August 2015 at 08:36. He blends in well. 10 August 2015 at 09:51. Monty is King of the Castle. 10 August 2015 at 12:30. The Farmer's Wife Day by Day.: Old Friends

http://www.farmerswifedaybyday.blogspot.com/2015/08/old-friends.html

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day. Tuesday, 11 August 2015. This weekend has been a busy one with some of our favourite visitors staying. We have known each other since we were ten. We often laugh over how I didn't take to her when we first met because I didn't like her Brownie hat (woolly rather than a beret like ours)! We have remained friends ever since for how many years? So it's been a weekend of walking around the farm. Eating at home and at the pub. Just spending comfortable time together. Sparkle in m...

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day.: Always Expect the Unexpected

http://www.farmerswifedaybyday.blogspot.com/2015/08/always-expect-unexpected.html

The Farmer's Wife Day by Day. Saturday, 15 August 2015. Always Expect the Unexpected. Quite a few years on ( twenty two at the end of this month) I have become accustomed to phone calls informing us that the cows/sheep are out and to dropping everything to rush off in hot pursuit. The girls cross to find the cows. Emma manages to tempt them to the edge with a bag of tasty barley. Looks like we are nearly there! Back they turn at the last minute! 16 August 2015 at 10:25. 16 August 2015 at 10:27. Please no...

http://in-my-playroom.blogspot.com/2015/08/im-following-tree-august-2015.html

Things . 101 and 52. Friday, 7 August 2015. I'm Following a Tree August 2015. It's time for the August visit to see how my tree is getting on. I wasn't expecting any significant changes from last month and that's exactly what I found! The female catkins are continuing to swell in size and the tree is covered in them. The majority of them are green . Strangely, there appears to still be a few tiny male catkins remaining. Some of the leaves are providing nourishment for visitors to the tree. The bark is go...

Yesterday I took another coach trip, this time up to London with the aim of collecting another set of photos for the Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt. First up is this line of portaloos . And from...

Things . 101 and 52. Thursday, 6 August 2015. Sending a Message with a Tussie Mussie. Today's outing was lunch with two friends at the Glove Factory in Holt, and then an afternoon visit to the Courts Garden, a National Trust property, where we had the opportunity to learn about the language of flowers and then to make a tussie mussie (a small posy) for a friend. The event was geared towards children, but we did it anyway! These are our attempts! 6 August 2015 at 21:49. 6 August 2015 at 21:58. 7 August 20...

Things . 101 and 52. Thursday, 13 August 2015. Yesterday, I met with a friend for lunch at Lowden Garden Centre. These frequent lunches with various friends could well be the reason the diet isn't working, but that's something to puzzle my brain about on another day! The creamy coloured one will eventually make its home in the front room, once I've had a bit of a change round, but for now it will keep the other one company in the dining room. That's assuming I manage to keep them alive! Love the cream co...

Things . 101 and 52. Monday, 10 August 2015. Me on Monday . drying out after getting soaked to the skin during my early morning walk, part of my 'get-out-and-walk-whatever-the-weather' exercise drive. I may have to rethink this approach, as I now don't feel like doing all the other things on the list for today! You may have gathered that I have a bad case of lazyitis. Again! The rest of this weekend was packed with visits from friends and a trip out. So, that's Me on Monday. How about you? Lovely photo o...

I've seen these bucket lists all over the internet and, of course, have decided to do my own list. For me this list isn't about completing the big once-in-a-lifetime goals, but is about getting on and doing those little things that I always say I want to do but don't get around to. Starting on Jan 1st 2015, the completion date will be September 28th 2017. Reach my target weight.

Things . 101 and 52. Monday, 3 August 2015. The Year in Books August 2015. The July book group reads were disappointing. The first one was. The second book was also a book group choice -. By Linwood Barclay. It was a decent enough crime story but a strange choice for the book group as there wasn't really that much to discuss. I found it easy enough to read through but it didn't really hold my attention and I wouldn't rave about it, which is my usual reaction to this author's writing. He Who Fears the Wolf.

Farmer's Wife In Progress

Farmer's Wife In Progress. Thursday, August 7, 2014. I said out loud while pulling my whaling child from the stairs tonight that "its like raising a primate". I am sure, mother apes, when you see them in the zoo just sitting there with these baby monkeys all over them and looking like they'd let themselves go with their messy hair and pop bellies sticking out that this is how they feel.
