What If I...Lived?: Scott's Story
http://what-if-i-lived.blogspot.com/p/scotts-story.html
What if, instead of mere day to day existence, what if I.lived? A Turkey Trot 5K -. And huffing and puffing! Truth is, I spent the first half of my 40's waiting, no expecting to die. No doubt it would be sudden - a heart attack or stroke - but certainly before my 50th birthday. That's how unhealthy I believed I was! In short, waiting to die has become an unacceptable way to live. After my first race - 7K! And it really started with a simple decision, inspired by Ben Davis of Ben Does Life. I ran the firs...

What if, instead of mere day to day existence, what if I.lived? Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Today, January 21 2015, twenty days into my new goal of dropping my weight below 200 pounds (190 to be exact) from an embarrassing 223 a few weeks ago, I submitted a questionnaire from Runner’s World magazine. The submission answered the question: “How Did Running Help You Lose Weight? 8221; One of the questions asked, “What is your secret to staying motivated? I have got to get this train back on its tracks!

What If I...Lived?: Sometimes
http://what-if-i-lived.blogspot.com/2012/09/sometimes.html
What if, instead of mere day to day existence, what if I.lived? Saturday, September 8, 2012. The week that should have seen me kicked out of the dive motel, I asked for help and my parents rescued me. It has been 31 years since I last used meth. But I am not cured; I am still an addict. And reality stepped in and slapped me in the face every time I looked in the mirror: the ravages of my addiction were piling up on me, pound by pound. I was an obese caricature of a 40-something husband and father. Now I'...

What If I...Lived?: Top 5 Reasons NOT to Lose Weight
http://what-if-i-lived.blogspot.com/2013/04/top-5-reasons-not-to-lose-weight.html
What if, instead of mere day to day existence, what if I.lived? Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Top 5 Reasons NOT to Lose Weight. Number 5: N.F.E. Syndrome. You know how occasionally you sleep with your ear flap folded over? And how when you wake up and “unfold” it, it slowly comes back to life? And as blood-flow is restored, it fills with excruciating pain? Yeah that. It happens to me nearly every night now, occasionally several times per night! I suppose another possibility is that I now sleep so deeply (the ...

What If I...Lived?: Beginnings
http://what-if-i-lived.blogspot.com/p/beginning.html
What if, instead of mere day to day existence, what if I.lived? Here's the Beginning of What If I Lived:. I was actually down 6 pounds from my all time high of 288. I asked my wife to take this photo at an apple orchard while my son played in the hay bale maze and I spent most of the time sitting at a picnic table. I wanted to start my new life on Novemeber 1. Unfortunately it would be January 2011 before I would break free of my chains and get serious about reclaiming my life. Lucky #7 for my first race!

http://what-if-i-lived.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
What if, instead of mere day to day existence, what if I.lived? Thursday, September 12, 2013. Photos From the WIIL 5K. The 5K run was a success, although most of the participants were already pretty darn healthy. We met a few new friends, realized our neighbors/landlords were really good grill-chefs, and that our friend Jennifer makes some awesome kabobs! Miraculously, the park was devoid of mosquitoes! And the after-run festivities were delicious, refreshing and fun! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Once upo...
