太太的話:「『劍橋比較牛津優美』是我在不同聚會常常聽到的描述。為了體會這句話 , 我分別住過牛津的Christ College 和劍橋的 Stanley Road。非常幸運地我於 2005 年 5,6 月期間在劍橋的 Britten Sinfonia 樂團當市場部實習生。雖然我住和工作的地方並不是學生活動的範圍, 但我參加了一個香港學生的查經班,及去 St Mary Church 崇拜, 還於 Garden Party 認識了一些大學生,同時感受一下這裡的學生生活, 實在令人非常嚮往, 所以我常常盼望有一天會與Dominic一起再次回來劍橋讀一些短期課程, 真正在這裡過學生生活。 2005年在劍橋的六週生活, 除了Dominic來探望我的十天精彩節目外, 以下的地方和回憶仍深深印在我腦海:. 下班後與同事去Midsummer Common 草地舉行的Beer Festival. 玩通宵的Trinity College May Ball: 許多美味食物, 情侶, 還有熱氣球. 星期天多個家庭在 Grifton Centre 及外面的草地休戲. 在 Granchester 吃 pub lunch.

陳志邦博士, 洋名Dominic, 生於香港, 長於香港, 年幼時就讀蘇浙幼稚園及小學共八年, 因此能說流利的普通話。十四歲時有幸到英國的英倫海峽群島 (English/British Channel Islands) 澤西島 (Jersey) 維多利亞書院 (Victoria College) 唸高中, 渡過了非常愉快的四年寄宿生生活, 在一九八九年五月獲得英女皇 (Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II) 親自頒發女皇數學金章獎 (Queen's Gold Medal), 其後在劍橋大學修讀工程系, 隸屬三一學院 (Trinity College), 八年內獲頒學士,碩士及博士學位 (博士論文 – 數碼信息處理 Digital Signal Processing), 經過十二年英倫的留學及工作生活, 於一九九七年一月回到香港, 見證了香港回歸祖國。投入香港繁忙的商業社會, 加入國際顧問公司麥肯錫公司 (McKinsey and Company) 進身管理顧問行業三年, 之後帶領了數間技術公司範圍包括VoIP/ 集成傳訊系統、...八載劍橋 My Cambridge Days.

其實很久以前已經想寫一本屬於自己，關於劍橋大學的書。看過不少校友的作品，多集中描寫她的歷史、她所孕育出來的成功人士、政客、科學家等等；有人寫了關於如何申請和進入劍橋大學，亦有不少劍橋的訪客，把對劍橋的感受以文字記錄下來。各人在劍橋的時間長短不一，學生、研究生、教授不計其數，然而只有很少是以日常生活中的各種趣事、各種生活印記作為書本的骨幹。正因如此，我就萌起了要寫一本書的念頭，談談自己在劍橋的趣事。自十八歲起，我在劍橋生活了共八年之多，其中包括了三年大學本科、兩年工作及後三年的博士生生涯，可以說是我一生中最美好最青春的光陰都獻給她了。她不僅帶給我既愉快又美麗的回憶，而且總是令人難以忘懷，讓人每次到英國，都禁不住要抽空去看看她&#652...這一本書，不是寫劍橋的歷史，不是寫劍橋的學術地位，不是寫劍橋對世界的貢獻，更不是教他人如何申請和進入劍橋大學。這一本書，是寫劍橋的美麗，是寫我在劍橋八年來的生活點滴與所見所聞，也寫出我對她的想念之情。 Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 八載劍橋 My Cambridge Days.
