Feeding Frenzy...: Classic Mushrooms
http://feedingfourlittlemonkeys.blogspot.com/2011/09/classic-mushrooms.html
Feeding four kids and a gluten-intolerant, lactose-intolerant husband. Tuesday, September 6, 2011. I'm normally not a huge fan of mushrooms. You won't find me picking them off my food or avoiding a handful mixed in my dish, but I'm certainly not one who considers sauteed mushrooms as a hefty side dish either. A great sauce for any meat. And I got the recipe. 2 lbs fresh mushrooms. 1 tsp olive oil. 1/8 cup onions, minced. 1/2 tsp. parsley. 1/4 tsp. oregano. 1/2 tsp. salt. 1/2 tsp. sweet basil. Those who k...

Feeding four kids and a gluten-intolerant, lactose-intolerant husband. Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Grandma Doogie's Pork Back Ribs. If you like moist and tender ribs, this method of making ribs is a guarantee for the most luscious ribs you'll ever eat. Watch out though because they may just fall off the bone while you're flippin'em on the grill. Grandma Doogie makes these wonder ribs without. Joe said, "Yeah, I'll have a beer.". After baking, carefully remove the ribs from roasting pan (these suckers just w...
Feeding Frenzy...: December 2010
http://feedingfourlittlemonkeys.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Feeding four kids and a gluten-intolerant, lactose-intolerant husband. Friday, December 17, 2010. THE Cake : a chocolatey angelic dessert. After years of making fun cut-out cakes, my mother in law ended up making THIS "cake" for my husband's birthday every year. For as long as I can remember, they've just referred to it as "THE cake." His requested favorite. It wasn't made for any of his siblings, just my hubby's own special cake for his own special day. 1 large angel food cake. 1 pint whipping cream.
Feeding Frenzy...: April 2010

Feeding four kids and a gluten-intolerant, lactose-intolerant husband. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. We've been receiving a little tin of these pecans from our neighbor for 9 years now. We love 'em! In fact, we like them so much that I wanted to make them and share them with my family in far-off lands (well, in a number of states away anyway). I found a similar recipe here. I love recipe hand-me-downs! This card is all you need. To make many people happy! 16 oz (1 pound) pecan halves. 1 large egg white.
Feeding Frenzy...: Tropical Pool Cake :: Beach Cake
http://feedingfourlittlemonkeys.blogspot.com/2010/08/tropical-pool-cake-beach-cake.html
Feeding four kids and a gluten-intolerant, lactose-intolerant husband. Friday, August 27, 2010. Tropical Pool Cake : Beach Cake. Our daughter requested a beach cake this year. I found the idea for this cake online, and it led me to the original idea that came from the June 19, 2007 issue of Woman's Day. Zee dee-rect-shuns. My daughter and the rest of the family LOVED this fun cake. It was pretty straight forward- especially since I don't have or know how to use any special cake decorating tools. I also c...

A Recipe-a-Day Look at What's Ha-Happening in My Kitchen. Monday, November 1, 2010. I became injured and have been battling that for a lot of this time. Surgery was two Fridays ago and now, having been unable to walk, I'm raring to get in that kitchen again! Come visit me over there: Newly Vegan. I'm going to make an effort to start posting over here again, too, though, so if that's not your thing, that's all right. I think I can still come up with a recipe every day that we can all enjoy.

A Recipe-a-Day Look at What's Ha-Happening in My Kitchen. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Sometimes I see a recipe that calls for Cajun seasoning. I’m generally not one on buying spice mixes since I buy so many spices in bulk. I can usually figure out what’s in them or come up with a reasonable facsimile like this one:. Mix together equal parts of…. Sunday, July 6, 2008. 2 1/2 cups blueberries (if frozen, be sure to thaw first). 3/4 - 1 cup cup sugar (more if you like it sweeter). 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Sift ...

A Recipe-a-Day Look at What's Ha-Happening in My Kitchen. Tuesday, January 5, 2010. French Chicken in a Pot, Rice-Stuffed Tomatoes and Creamed Spinach. I haven't been writing here for a while. I guess I've been a little bit disgruntled with food. I just got back from Central America, though, and things seemed a bit different. Not as factory. Not as feed lot. I'm back on the meat again and in full force. Last night, I was lazy, however, and just made a tuna casserole. Have I ever even posted that recipe?

A Recipe-a-Day Look at What's Ha-Happening in My Kitchen. Monday, April 5, 2010. I made these the other night (modeled after the Mondo Burrito from The Grit Cookbook) and it's quickly become my kid's favorite meal. Giant whole wheat tortilla. Toast the tortilla and place the tortilla on an oven-safe plate. Then start with a generous bed of rice and top with chili. We've used a vegetarian recipe from The Grit Cookbook for this as well as Tasty Bite Madras Lentils or Dal Makhani. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
