Fiber Artist Journey: March 2013
http://www.fiberartistjourney.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 28, 2013. Waiting- the Fiber Funster's Challenge. Waiting by Charo Lopez. My small art-quilt group, the Fiber Funsters, met yesterday with our every-other month challenge. We take turns choosing a theme. This time, Charo picked "Waiting" for us to interpret. Charo's piece, left, features her cat gazing out the window at little birds and bugs made from beads, buttons, and embroidery. The pillow her kitty sits on is puffy and with little braid and tassels. I had a lot of fun working on this but, the pebbles are time consuming. Just had to have some feathers and tried out Leah Day's design that looks like geese. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the swirls. Light House Mug Rug. This will be going to my Massage therapist as Lighthouses are the theme of her business.

Fiber Artisans of San Jose | Sharing the thread of life
Fiber Artisans of San Jose. Sharing the thread of life. Fiber Artisans is a small, very active group of weavers and fiber artists who meet monthly in members homes in the San Jose area. We have been members of CNCH (Conference of Northern California Handweavers) since 1979. Our goal is to have one big project a year for all members and to encourage each other in all our artistic endeavours. Mary Meigs Atwater, a weaving legend, gave us this bit of wisdom in 1961 when handweaving was being rediscovered.
