Silent and not deadly. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Our pride scars us most when we deceive ourselves by cloaking and masking it in indifference, conditional tolerance, self-deprecation, and perpetuate it with busy-ness and isolation. Praying for, working for, looking forward to the day we can bare our deepest, most painful scars like vets compare their old war wounds and boast. Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Charley showed me shanghai kiss tonight. we almost watched ping pong! You're a go...

silent and not deadly: September 2009

Silent and not deadly. Thursday, September 17, 2009. I thought my time management was getting better, but i still have relapses of sloth. i just learned today, though, that that's a part of the process. :P. Even so, i see evidence of myself being more driven in my academic life- an improvement, but still not nearly enough. after all, i'm here on blogger when i should be reading for class. inarticulate: November 2010
http://idoulex.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 28, 2010. Already, but not yet. Monday, November 8, 2010. Some not so great things about today. Finding projects ruined in my classroom after Cruz's 3rd period and lunch. Augh. I hate it when kids violate. One student said to me, "Give me my fucking pencil," and tried to play it off. Write up. Lunch detention will be served, I suppose. That was basically it. Some highlights of the day:. Saturday, November 6, 2010. People are important to me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

奇恩 (Qi en): temporally eastern, spatially midwestern. Friday, July 1, 2011. How I learned about medicine this year. During my second year in medical school, I wrote an email to the rheumatologist with whom I spent some time during M1 year. I told her how I would more easily remember the insignificant, non-medical trivialities from my lectures rather than the testable, high yield, board-relevant material that I was spending so much time just trying to care about at times- let alone learn. Furthermore, in ...

奇恩 (Qi en): temporally eastern, spatially midwestern. Wednesday, December 14, 2011. It seems like an awful lot of money to be spending on such a self-serving cause. A part of me would much rather learn about the cities where I might spend the next three years or learn about how I would be serving the communities around these hospitals. 8220;Hey, did the bus just get in? 8220;Do you know if they found a wallet? 8220;They did not.”. 8220;Can you give me some money.”. 8220;What do you need it for? 8220;Tole...

Apply pen directly to screen. Writing on a street corner. Thursday, January 17, 2013. Why do i have the utmost confidence in whatever it is that i plan to do, despite knowing that i may falter when the time comes to perform? Confidence without reason, confidence in performance with a miserable track record. What does it mean to compartmentalize, anyway? Does compartmentalization mean that if i'm with my parents i don't swear? Is that what compartmentalization is? What does it mean? How is that possible?

奇恩 (Qi en): temporally eastern, spatially midwestern. Sunday, November 27, 2011. Outside of the room, the attending commented on how she was a little surprised at how a woman like her would end up marrying a guy like him. "She's clearly in love with him still.it's cute," she had correctly observed, "but she's just so.intelligent"- her words not so much conveying confusion as much as they did amazement. 奇恩 (Qi en): temporally eastern, spatially midwestern. Monday, May 28, 2012. A friend of mine came to town to help me move things into my new home. I had told him about the park nearby with the basketball courts with nets that reminded me harnesses. After moving everything in and finding myself a kitchen table in the depths of an outlying suburb, we scurried over to the park to catch the last glimpses of daylight. You want to play Chicago? Hey, you want to play a game? You want to play Chicago? He had now...

奇恩 (Qi en): temporally eastern, spatially midwestern. Monday, June 28, 2010. A book opens itself as much as it is read. When I hear stories like this, my somber soul insists that somewhere therein lies a serenity that supersedes sadness. I can't quite grasp how this is logically possible, but if sacrifice can surrender to salvation, then something about this must be true. Labels: med school life. Monday, June 21, 2010.
