We tried the weekend buffet ($13). The food was good, in particular the crispy dosas (served hot at the table), the yummy sambhar and the chicken biryani. And that probably explains why this 4th avenue restaurant, while serving some truly delectable food, doesn't see the same kind of crowds as the joints along University Avenue. We went into this small eatery on 509 5th Ave (Gaslamp) in search of some crepes, and it turned out to be excellent all round. I found the Mozarella sampler on the appetizer menu particularly impressive. The paninis and crepes we tried were also very good. They also have a large selection of Gelato which we unfortunately were not able to get around to. Sunday, August 9, 2009. People seem to love this place on yelp.

Wednesday, February 29, 2012. The Santaluz Club http:/ www.santaluz.com/. Or there was just something off about the venue. We finally came across The Santaluz Club. A country club inside the Santaluz community after months of searching and it measured up to what we were looking for. Plus it was pretty close to home. 6 miles away. Why didn't we think to visit sooner? Now, I just hope I get to enjoy a few bites on our big night. Chicken satay with peanut sauce}. Coconut shrimp with sweet chili sauce}.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010. A Case for Encased Meats at Hot Dougs: Chicago, IL. I had a free Southwest trip to use up before expiration and EHK accumulates quite a few SW free trips due to work travels so we decided on kind of a whim to visit Chicago a few weeks ago. We booked a lovely room overlooking the Magnificent Mile, at the Intercontinental Chicago which proved to be a very central location via Priceline. Well he said its kind of the magic time to go if we didn't want to wait in line for 1-2 hours?

We finally got around to making some of MK's salmon (remember Lotsa Salmon. Post from a few days ago? 1/4 cup saikyo shiro miso paste. 2 tblsp brown sugar. 1 tblsp sesame oil.
