Japanese dodder Alert
http://www.dodder.org/index.html
Friends of Five Creeks. Photo from Contra Costa County Website. Japanese dodder is a leafless, bright yellow parasitic vine. Long, spaghetti-like strands form dense tangles on other plants. They suck nutrients from host plants and can eventually kill them. This parasite threatens gardens, parks, wild areas, and orchards. It attacks many plants. Oak, willow, ivy, blackberry, plum, apple, laurel, clematis, fennel, and coyote brush are just a few. Japanese dodder grows fast and spreads easily.

While the Randall undergoes renovation in 2015 and 2016, our series will be changing locations — and we will not have set days, or even times — so keep in touch. We have had some fantastic hosts in 2015 and appreciate the generosity and welcome we have received: Green Apple Books on the Park. In the Sunset, the Exploratorium’s Bay Observatory Gallery.
