Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Philip Island's Little Penguins. One of Melbourne's 'big' tourist attractions is 33cm tall. It's the Eudyptula minor, or little penguin. Every day, busloads of tourists drive the 130km down to Philip Island to sit on the beach at sunset and watch around 800 of the world's smallest penguins waddle ashore and head into their burrows after a few days at sea. Tuesday, August 28, 2007. New country, new life, new career.but at least the apartment is sorted out! I just need to hang some prints and Leunig cartoons, and then it's all done. Not bad for a few weeks work and $1600 between two of us. It's cute and cosy, and most important; it feels like home. These are my room. Sunday, January 28, 2007. Snow and Amaretto and Diamonds. After weeks of temperate weather, 0n Friday the temperature finally dropped below zero degrees and it snowed. Glorious snow! Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Chilling out in the Caribbean! After a last minute panic about where to live when I arrive in Durham, it was time to say goodbye to home again. Due to a fog in Melbourne, a 28-or so hour trip ended up taking a mammoth and largely unenjoyable 41 hours!
