My Florida Yard: April 2010
http://floridayard.blogspot.com/2010/04/april-2010.html
Digging" native plants in Tampa Bay, Florida. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Spring is in full swing. The front yard meadow is just starting to bust out with flowers and the backyard is greening up nicely. I'm very happy with the amount of plants that have come up from seeds deposited by last year's crop. It looks like the blanket flower will have some company this year in the form of several varieties of coreopsis. This should add a little more yellow than previous years. Gotta love the blanket flower. Another...

Digging" native plants in Tampa Bay, Florida. Sunday, March 14, 2010. First Signs of Spring. OK, I'm finally caught up. Winter is pretty slow so I didn't bother taking any photos of the yard. The cold snaps seem like they're over and we've been getting some rain. The yard is responding in typical spring fashion. I'll start the tour in the front yard and then move to the back. There have been some small blanket flowers popping up all over the place, but only recently have any started to flower. This sweet...

Digging" native plants in Tampa Bay, Florida. Sunday, March 14, 2010. Yes, this blog is devoted to Florida plants, but we don't see stuff like this down here. Digging" native plants in Tampa Bay, Florida. Sunday, March 14, 2010. The view from the front porch. The house bed is exploding with growth and the meadow is punctuated by the purple muhly grasses in full flower. These dotted horsemint were amazing this year. Between the various specimens, I think I had flowers from August through February. An elevated view as the sun goes down. Posted by Eric Vichich. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bay-Friendly Landscaping: April 2013

A True Tale of Our Commitment to Creating a Landscape that Benefits the Environment While Saving Us Money, Time and Sweat. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. My Big, Bad Gardening Boo-Boo. Just when I think I'm actually getting the hang of this Bay-Friendly Landscaping, reality slaps me right up side the head! And I have no one to blame but myself. Two years ago, I planted a pretty low-growing groundcover native to the Pacific Islands called dwarf chenille plant,. In my mulched beds to take up space. Not known t...
