Flour Children

Saturday, July 20, 2013. Making mountains out of molehills. I like to make a big deal out of small things. Now, I'm not talking about all the times I've imagined some hidden meaning in people's words and actions. That's something I'm working on, I promise. All summer long, I've been watching my friends post pictures of their vacations. I've listened to their tales of warm sun, sand in between their toes, and relaxation. I am happy for them. An old pic of us in front of the Capitol building. Posted by Car...

Flour Children: May 2012

http://flour-children.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 24, 2012. 2011-2012 Year in Review. I knew I hadn't blogged for a while, but I had no idea it was so long. I can't say I'm surprised, as it was a rough winter around here, and I was absolutely not in the mood for, well, anything. On a positive note, things are much better, spring has sprung, and we're winding up the school year. Flour Children petting a ray. Always fun! Monopoly. For about 2 months here, this is what my table looked like. Every. Day. Goofy and Scrappy played basketball.

Flour Children: January 2013

http://flour-children.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 28, 2013. I've been doing the Women Living Well. Valentine's Day Challenge. I was afraid that I'd see how I need to do better in this area, and that has been the case. Posted by Carrie Hanbury. Friday, January 25, 2013. I love bread. For real. It's fun to make, and kneading bread sometimes keeps me from killing people! Kidding. Mostly.) It smells good and there is nothing quite as good to eat as fresh bread with butter. And that time when you pull the bread out of the oven. Thursday, Janu...

Flour Children: August 2012

http://flour-children.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 31, 2012. Week in Review- In which we get started. I am pleased to announce that not only have we all survived yet another first week of school, I daresay that this year, we are thriving. No one has been complaining, or whiny, or even too hard to find when I announce, "It's time to start school." I do not want to curl up in a ball and pray for gypsies. Hooray! I am going to chalk it all up to God (props! Books read: Leonardo and the Flying Boy. Martin Luther: A Man Who Changed the World.

Flour Children: February 2013

http://flour-children.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 12, 2013. I recently admitted my history of self-hatred to you. I was full of terror when I put that out there, and I still want to take down this post. Because it's just a little too honest. I'm fairly certain that's the self-hatred creeping back in, telling me that people think I'm crazy or worse- that they feel sorry for me. Flour Child | For the love of dessert

Here is a list of the most awkward things to ever occur on planet Earth:. Me, age 10 to 15. That’s the whole list. It was a fragile time, the ill-famed awkward stage, one I filled with activities like: making water balloon families and naming them after the cast of Full House, plastering every square inch of my bedroom walls with posters of Disney Channel stars to “take a rebellious stance” against the “hideous lavender paint for babies,” cutting my own side bangs to be. Just like everybody else. When it...

Flour De Lis

Monday, January 19, 2015. Chewy Salted Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies. I am a big fan of drop cookies. Especially when they are soft and chewy! I don't make them often, because I don't want to eat the entire batch and I will! Eat The. Entire. Batch. I'e been wanting to test out this new recipe for a while and tonight I finally got a chance. It's pretty rare to find time to get anything done these days, with baby boy having me wrapped around his cute little fingers ;). 1 cup brown sugar. 1 tsp baking powder.
