Friday, April 29, 2011. I'm still around fishing and tying when I can fit in the time. Got geared up to do some steelhead fishing but the river blew out and the predicted weather called for 15-25 mph winds and heavy rain so I ditched that plan last minute and decided to do a little pike fishing instead before the nasty weather hit home. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Where did the summer go? I slacked on updating the blog this summer. It sure was a busy one and I ended up spending a lot of time with the family mostly camping, hiking, fishing and just playing around home. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. The blackbird continues to be my favorite and most consistent night fly. The ones left in my box from last year had rusty hooks and were starting to look pretty beat up and scraggly. I decided to tie a few fresh ones up for myself and for some friends hoping they will have some of the same success I've had. I added a picture to the Striper Flies. Sunday, June 5, 2011. Update and Fish Of A Lifetime. Slow week, high water, though Jeremy Cameron of Flies and Fins. Was able to coax one of the most massive and beautiful brook trout I have ever seen to eat. Weather is starting to turn, so we should be seeing rivers lower down, and stripes in the salt. Schmidt hasn't been doing back back in the big "O". Pictures of his hog from this past week. I am soooo jealous of that big Brookie. I cant even get to my favorite Brookie lake. Still iced over.
