Litchfield Jazz Festival celebrates 20th anniversary. Bantam Lake Ski Club ready to put on a show. One of the pyramid acts in the Bantam Lake Ski Club's show this weekend practices its routine on Wednesday. BZ photos. What's being billed as the best ski show north of Cypress Gardens in Florida takes place this weekend when the Bantam Lake Ski Club holds its annual show. Under the direction of club members Kayla and Taylor Pottbecker, the show will be performed Saturday at 2 pm and Sunday at 2 pm in front of Sandy Beach on East Shore Road in Morris.

Litchfield fiscal year ends with a budget surplus. First Selectman Leo Paul Jr. and his selectmen were in a good mood Tuesday after learning that the municipal portion of the town budget for 2014-2015 ended up with a surplus of $400,000. Assistant finance director Stacey Dionne presented the news to the board during its meeting. Dionne recently closed the books on the 2014-15 fiscal year, which ended June 30.

Democratic candidate for first selectman bows out. Jake Nadler has bowed out of the first selectman's race in Litchfield. There will be no race for first selectman in Litchfield after all now that the Democratic candidate, Jake Nadler, has dropped out. Nadler earned the unanimous endorsement of the Democratic caucus on July 21 and was set square off against six-term incumbent Leo Paul Jr., a Republican. Selectmen Diane Knox and Jeffrey Zullo would have been his running mates.
