Fraser's fables

Sunday, 1 February 2015. Rail trail with tunnel in the distance. Kelley booked a night away in the Goulburn Valley on my birthday weekend. We had only ever driven through the area so didn't know it well but it has an excellent rail trail and I had a good blast on the Saturday afternoon on that. Follow the trail of horse poo. View out the other side of the tunnel. Friday, 30 May 2014. It wasn't too bad, yes it was steep and as you can see from below there were sections where they had rope to hang on too, ...

Fraser's fables: October 2013

http://fraserjwilson.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 30 October 2013. Laos - Luang Prabang Part 2. Had to split this post up, it was getting too long and hard to format. So to pick up where we left of, we had finished donating to the monks and were about to move into our new digs for the last couple of nights, a fancy hotel that Kelley had been looking forward too all trip. It was a nice way to finish. A bit more space anyway. Relaxing on the veranda. View from our room to the pool and river beyond. We had to take the boat across to get into town.

Fraser's fables: March 2012

http://fraserjwilson.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, 11 March 2012. It was a superb late summer evening so Kelley organised some bare foot bowling. Team captains Gabs and Sara squared off and after a late comeback by Sara's team it finished up all square with a left handed bowling challenge to decide and if memory serves correctly, Chris cleaned up and Gab's team won. Great fun though. Saturday, 10 March 2012. Enjoying the wine at Taltarni vineyard. View down the road from Taltani. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Fraser's fables: February 2013

http://fraserjwilson.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, 17 February 2013. I had a course in Sydney at the start of the week so we took the opportunity to head up for a weekend. Kelley hadn't been to Sydney before (apart from a work trip) so we did all the classic touristy things, as the photos below will demonstrate. We had an early flight up on Saturday morning and left in the early morning haze of another hot day in Melbourne. Balloons early morning when we left Melbourne. Classic Sydney tourist shot. Circular Quay from the Opera House.

Josh in Bermuda: November 2006

http://jxbermuda.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 20, 2006. My Wheels - part 2. After a 6 week waiting period to sit my Bermuda driving licence, I was able to take the 3 minute test which consisted of driving in and out of a dozen cones and turning both ways using indicators and arms. Another display of Bermuda efficiency. As a result though, I was able to return my 50CC rental and bought myself an upgrade to the dominating 100CC Yamaha Axis. Isn't she a beauty. Josh in Bermuda: July 2007

http://jxbermuda.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 29, 2007. We're now two-thirds through the cricket season so thought a quick update would be in order. We've now won seven in a row to sit second on the table (though I've only been around for three of those games with my recent traveling). Today (pictured below) was a fairly non-eventful day for me - faced one ball to finish with 1*, bowled one ball to take a wicket and end the game, dropped a hard catch and took an easy one. So not much action for me in seven hours of play! So, another gre...

Ross and Michelle on Tour: Naples – are we still in Italy? (Italy Part V)

http://rossandmichelleontour.blogspot.com/2010/09/naples-are-we-still-in-italy-italy-part.html

Ross and Michelle on Tour. Saturday, September 04, 2010. Naples – are we still in Italy? From the rural tranquillity of Umbria, after a 400km drive south, we found ourselves thrust into the noise, chaos and dirt that is Naples. Our view - a bit of a change from Assisi. So Naples was a place we had a love/hate relationship with. It is certainly worth a visit – highlights for us were:. La Pignasecca – Naples’ oldest street market. Although not the most famous market in Naples, we real. Museo di Capodimonte...

Ross and Michelle on Tour: ‘The hills are alive……..’ (Italy Pt II)

Ross and Michelle on Tour. Monday, May 17, 2010. 8216;The hills are alive…….’ (Italy Pt II). Lake Iseo - an overnight stop en-route to Castelrotto in the Alps. The hills are alive. (the view from our hotel). That man deserves a zuppa. Church in the Alps. The blend of cultures here was intriguing and we really enjoyed the novelty of it all (in addition to the breathtaking geography! Hills on the drive from Lake Iseo to Alps - it was pretty chilly up there. Verona - the home of romance. We ate antipasti he...

Josh in Bermuda: June 2007

http://jxbermuda.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 29, 2007. Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The final stop was Ocho Rios on the Northern shore of Jamaica. Jamaica was very different to our other destinations, I guess because it's much poorer than islands like the Bahamas and Cayman. We were hassled a bit to buy souvenirs, take taxis or buy drugs (or seeing Bob Marley as they put it), but it was nowhere near as bad as places like Bangkok or Indonesia. The beach - again just beautiful. Posted by Josh at 7:30 PM. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Rum Point was a ...

Andy's Adventures: December 2007

http://ajorme.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, 30 December 2007. Miguel gave us an initial 30 minute talk at a spot overlooking the ruins. He spoke of the history of the place and the significance in Incan culture (both of which there are many theories on), the fact that the Spanish. The locals clearly hadn't forgotten about the place. As with a lot of Incan construction they integrated their buildings into the surrounding rock. A prime example at Machu Picchu is the Temple of the Condor. Hopefully the photos below show how this has b...Our t...

Andy's Adventures: The Inca Trail - Day 3

http://ajorme.blogspot.com/2007/12/inca-trail-day-3.html

Sunday, 23 December 2007. The Inca Trail - Day 3. In a nutshell, Plan B was to trek all the way to the Sun Gate from our second night campsite and arrive at Macchu Picchu in early afternoon to a guaranteed view of the ruins. The bonus was that we got to spend the afternoon at Macchu Picchu and as long as we wanted the next day, we could sleep inside (albeit on the second floor of a restaurant! And hit the hot pools at Aguas Calientes to ease our aching joints. 25 December 2007 at 3:15 PM. NFL - Super Game.

Albino & Gypsy: Guaranteed to be green

http://albinoandgypsy.blogspot.com/2013/05/guaranteed-to-be-green.html

Friday, 24 May 2013. Guaranteed to be green. Not making the traditional trip back to NZ for New Year celebrations this year we decided to head to Ireland for a few days escaping the city in a small thatched cottage on a farm outside Lismore in County Waterford. The cottage was peat brick powered and surrounded by green fields with sheep grazing. M and S. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). David Clark for Dunedin North! Currently), London, United Kingdom.
