http://artisttravels.blogspot.com/2013/06/wanderlust.html
European and Southern Paintings by Durinda. Durinda's Art News and Views. Sunday, June 30, 2013. When you close your eyes, where are you? Are you still in your own environment surrounded by things that are familiar to you? Or are you someplace where you have been where you remember the sights, sounds, and smells? Maybe you can imagine a place you would like to go. Is it very different from where you are? What do you envision you will see? What do you hear? Are you alone or around others? This blog is for...

Have Paints Will Travel: CUBA continued…Santeria
http://havepaintswilltravel.blogspot.com/2014/03/cuba-continuedsanteria.html
Have Paints Will Travel. Monday, March 10, 2014. We turn onto a street and I see this extremely colorful mural on the top floor of a 4 story building. This must be the Santeria neighborhood. The drumming starts and the first dancer leaps onto the floor. The trickster takes his turn to dance. He grabs Joan and she gives it her all! This stunning young girl swirls her skirts like the ocean…I hope my camera catches an image of her that I can paint this evening. . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enter yo...

Have Paints Will Travel: March 2014
http://havepaintswilltravel.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Have Paints Will Travel. Monday, March 10, 2014. I sit on a “dog” and my friend snaps a photo. I am at the home and studio of Cuban artist Jose Fuster. This prolific artist takes a little from Gaudi a little from Picasso, mixes it with Cuban color and the result is a home, studio and half the neighborhood covered in mosaic tiled sculptures. . I spend time after dinner trying to capture the whimsy of this artist’s work in my sketch book. This is my favorite of all the art in the lobby. Look ...I am s...

Plat Du Jour: January 2005
http://platdujour.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Keeping track of culinary adventures in and around San Francisco! Saturday, January 29, 2005. Walked us through some of the history of the region and proceeded to test the group's knowledge of citrus by having us guess the smells of 7 different blotters dipped in different citrus essence. From grapefruit to clementine, and lime to bergamot, our senses were aroused with each smell, as were our appetites. And Art du Voyage. I now have a copy of Daniel Young's book, and though I've had just a quick chance t...

Have Paints Will Travel. Wednesday, January 7, 2015. I can't believe this is happening and I am here" Cuba, December 17, 2014. I returned to Cuba in December 2014 on a Photography Workshop led by Photographer Lorne Resnick. What follows is quoted from my journal written exactly as I wrote it on December 17. In a small village near Trinadad, Cuba. We are on the bus leaving the festival to have lunch: Lorne looks at his. Cuban cell phone, stares at it, and then screams "Holy Shit! The Cuban 3 are free!

Michael Reardon: May 2014
http://michaelrreardon.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 21, 2014. This is a small watercolor of the Spanish village of Calella de Palafrugell, the location of next May's workshop in Spain. I took quite a few liberties, especially with the foreground in order to get a composition I liked. Nothing new about that. The story here was the water. Looks like a great place to paint. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Watercolor Workshop in Spain. Visit her website for more information. If you want to get hold of me, reply to this post. It should be a great time!
