Rathmines Park - a former RAAF Flying Boat Base NSW. The Flying Boat Base at Rathmines Park became operational in December 1939, when No. 9 Squadron which was initially from Point Cook in Victoria transferred to Rathmines with their fleet of Seagull Flying boats. In 1972 a memorial was erected at Rathmines. Dedicated to those who served at the RAAF Rathmines and to all associated with flying boats and seaplanes 1939-1960.
