Bill's Prog Blog: Some Notes Toward a Prog Biography...
http://billsprogblog.blogspot.com/p/some-notes-toward-prog-biography.html
Some Notes Toward a Prog Biography. So, who am I? I am someone "who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read," if you asked Frank Zappa. But that's cheeky and not true. Not entirely true at least. I'm a long time music fan who fell in love with progressive music from a very early age. The first 'prog' record I ever heard was Frank Zappa’s Freak Out! What's the deal with that? Wacky French band.there’s no way I'll ever be into them. I eventually wrote for Progression. New p...

Bill's Prog Blog: CD GUEST REVIEW: Half Past Four - Rabbit in the Vestibule
http://billsprogblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/cd-guest-review-half-past-four-rabbit.html
CD GUEST REVIEW: Half Past Four - Rabbit in the Vestibule. Today's CD review is written by good friend Jeff Gutenberg.expect more reviews from him soon! Dreamy and ethereal on “Underwater,” feisty and energetic on “Bamboo,” another Zappa-esque bit of off-kilter whimsy. She’s a real find, and one of the great pleasures to be found in listening to this band. Twelve Little Words 5:18. The Ballad of Dwayne’s Plane 4:53. Kyree Vibrant – vocals. Constantin Necresov – guitars. Igor Kurtzman – keyboards. More th...

Bill's Prog Blog: (More than) 10 Questions with...John and Dave of Shadow Circus
http://billsprogblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/more-than-10-questions-withjohn-and.html
More than) 10 Questions with.John and Dave of Shadow Circus. I’m not sure how to introduce this interview. And for me, that’s saying something. Because I am rarely at a loss for words. Shadow Circus is a band out of NJ. I got their self-released debut album Welcome to the Freakshow. A few years back, and thought it enjoyable, but it kinda fell out of my rotation not long after picking it up. There was promise there, but…it didn’t seem quite all gelled for me. How times have changed. Well, my Mom says tha...

Bill's Prog Blog: CD REVIEW: Robin Taylor - Two-Pack Part 1 (2010 Marvel of Beauty Records)
http://billsprogblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/cd-review-robin-taylor-two-pack-part-1.html
CD REVIEW: Robin Taylor - Two-Pack Part 1 (2010 Marvel of Beauty Records). I’ve covered Danish multi-instrumentalist Robin Taylor quite a few times here on BPB…mostly because he’s so bloody prolific! Every time I turn around he has a new album or project under way…it can get pretty exhausting keeping up with him. Robin’s newest release is a 2-disc set titled Two-Pack. Today we’ll be listening to and looking at the first disc in the set. Which we’ll be taking a look at very soon! The Ghost of Goran 9:56.

Bill's Prog Blog: More than 10 Questions with...James Byron Schoen of Edensong
http://billsprogblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/more-than-10-questions-withjames-byron.html
More than 10 Questions with.James Byron Schoen of Edensong. People who have read my review of Edensong’s Echoes of Edensong know full well how much this band’s music has touched me. Sitting down with founder member James Byron Schoen was something I felt I needed to do on a number of levels; the combination of striking visuals, packaging, and intense lyrical themes left me wanting to understand more. I want to thank him for his time and his patience…and if you get a chance, go see the band live! 4 How di...
