Thursday, 25 August 2016. Camp Rising Sun Europe. Camp Rising Sun USA. The George E. Jonas Foundation, which runs the summer school, was established in 1996 by a group of Danes who over the past 60 years have participated in two similar American summer programs. These two summer programs, one for girls (first season in 1989) and one for boys (first season in 1930), are run by the American foundation, The Louis August Jonas Foundation ( www.lajf.org. The network of alumni is approximately 5000 worldwide.

Thursday, 25 August 2016. Camp Rising Sun Europe. Camp Rising Sun USA. GEJF has a basic endowment of 260,145 DKr as of January 2010. The cost of a camp season is 1-1.1 million DKr (140,000 ). The distribution of expenses is approx. 1/3 to salary, 1/3 to food and activities and 1/3 to rent of camp, facilities and transport. The camp is free of charge for the girls. Thursday, 25 August 2016. Camp Rising Sun Europe. Camp Rising Sun USA. A board of three to seven members runs the Foundation. Three members are appointed by the CRSAAD for three-year periods. As of March 2010 these three members are:. Torsten Enemærke (chairman), CRS ’64. Steen Sauerberg, CRS ‘58. Mathilde Duedahl Jørgensen, CRSE ’09. The board can appoint additional members. En beretning fra Sidse, der tilbragte sommeren 1997 på Camp Rising Sun i USA. Sommeren 1997 vil altid stå for mig som den tid, hvor jeg fik min hidtil største oplevelse, fysisk såvel som psykisk. Det er rart at kunne slippe tankerne om hjemveen lidt, når man synker tilbage i de behagelige sæder og langsomt slapper af og nyder turen over Atlanten.
