Deep South Kikos News: My Bottle Babies
http://deepsouthkikosnews.blogspot.com/2015/05/my-bottle-babies.html
Deep South Kikos News. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Hi, my name is Dillon and I am 12 years old. I wanted to update you on our farm life in the South. Here's a pic that I took of my bottle babies searching me for food. These are our very first bottle babies. We have had them for about two months now and they are growing so fast! You can't go anywhere without them trying to go through the fence to get to you. We love having "pet goats" that you can walk up to and pet on. Thursday, May 21, 2015. PW FULL RSS FEED.

Egypt Creek Diary: February 2012
http://egyptcreekranch.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Life on a working meat goat ranch. Thursday, February 23, 2012. This is why I don't always get birthweights. This photo of newborns was taken with a zoom lens straight down a steep hill. The birthweight of the kids in this photo is moot anyway. I've had the Kiko-cross doe for 7 years, she's a Rusty daughter that never needs deworming and always has twins with no assistance. Common sense tells me to keep her. And the sire of the kids is a double-bred Xcelerator. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. They are gett...

Egypt Creek Diary: April 2012
http://egyptcreekranch.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Life on a working meat goat ranch. Thursday, April 26, 2012. Downed tree brings bounty from above. We were in the office working yesterday morning when we heard this loud crash outside. At the same time, I heard the guard dog puppies squeal. A big sugar berry tree had blown over just down hill from the Goat Rancher. Office (which is located in the old farm house here on the ranch). The tree didn't hit anything; the puppies had just been startled and were hiding underneath the barn. You can tell where.

Egypt Creek Diary: May 2012
http://egyptcreekranch.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Life on a working meat goat ranch. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Goats benefit from a little drought. This map shows drought conditions across the U.S. on May 22, 2012. Conditions range from Abnormaly Dry (yellow) to. Exceptional Drought (dark brown). I just knew when I checked the U.S. Drought Monitor. There was an article in this month's Stockman Grass Farmer. The dry weather also has helped with the fly problems. A month ago I had to keep fly traps out and spray occasionally around the lounging areas t...

Egypt Creek Diary: ECR Rusty's Rambo meets the women
http://egyptcreekranch.blogspot.com/2012/08/ecr-rustys-rambo-meets-women.html
Life on a working meat goat ranch. Thursday, August 2, 2012. ECR Rusty's Rambo meets the women. ECR Rusty's Rambo (ECR Rusty x ECR Hanky Panky). In with a group of does. I got up early this morning and was able to catch Rambo before he and the other bucks took off for the pine forest for the day. He didn't like being dragged through the yard and to the next pasture, but as soon as he saw who was waiting for him, all four brakes unlocked! For pricing on these does, see the Goats for Sale-Does link.

Egypt Creek Diary: March 2012
http://egyptcreekranch.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Life on a working meat goat ranch. Thursday, March 29, 2012. CCR Xcelerator — a legend — dead at 13. It was a sad day on Egypt Creek Ranch yesterday. We found Xcelerator dead in his pasture. It looks like he just fell over. The old boy had lived a good life and leaves a lasting legacy in the Kiko world. In addition to his production traits, Xcelerator was "pretty" with his long curling horns and bright, white sleek coat in summertime. His photo has been used in books and magazines to illustrate the K...
