Felles arkitektur for kommunal sektor (FAKS). Det er gjennomført et forprosjekt som analyserer og anbefaler grunnlaget for en felles generisk IKT-arkitektur for kommunal sektor, med utgangspunkt i Bergen og Bærum sitt arbeid med tjenesteorientert arkitektur. Det er også foretatt kartlegging og beskrivelse hva som er evt. mangler i den felles arkitekturbeskrivelsen. Noark er en forkortelse for Norsk arkivstandard. Noark ble utarbeidet som en kravspesifikasjon for elektroniske journalsystemer i statsforvaltningen i 1984 av Statens rasjonaliseringsdirektorat (Statskonsult) i samarbeid med Riksarkivaren. Formålet med Noark-4 Web Services er å standardisere og forenkle kommunikasjon mellom ulike systemer i offentlig forvaltning for å sikre gjenbruk av data og muliggjøre automatisert saksbehandling. Geointegrasjon har revidert Noark-4 Web Services i en arbeidsgruppe.
