At a time when public schools state-wide are reeling from over 4 billion dollars in cuts to state support, I believe we can ill afford to empower an unaccountable state authority in Atlanta to certify and dole out state funds to "special schools.". Lucky for Democrats, we have organizations already here that are modeling good behavior. Just look to groups like the Georgia Association for Latino Officials ( GALEO. For similar activities in asian communities. Don't stop with registering Latinos. Look at other burgeoning minority communities including Koreans, Chinese, and others.
