Wednesday, July 16, 2014. So I've been back for a bit less than 3 weeks now. It's been a while since I last posted, nearly a month ago. Let's see how much I can remember. I'll base this part off of my photos. My last week in Peru I didn't go to class. I went out with friends, enjoyed myself, spent as much time as I could with my favorite people. Let's see.the following photos are from a day's visit to Barranco, which included lunch, sightseeing, and some last minute souvenir shopping. Swinging in the park.

Monday, August 26, 2013. On Sunday my host family and I took a trip to Chosica and just kind of chilled, saw a few different things, had lunch at a restaurant, and also encountered some llamas. Here's some pics:. Above is a pic of an ice cream stand that had pretty cool ice cream flavors, many made from exotic peruvian fruits. Some examples can be found on the sign in the picture: Chirimoya, Higo, I think Palta means avocado.yuck I wouldn't want that as an ice cream flavor. Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Going to congress or something. So in a few minutes I'm leaving to go to the center of Lima, all the exchange students are being welcomed by congress or something along those lines/fancy ceremony/formal clothing/nervousness.I think there might be TV cameras present :O. Thursday, June 19, 2014. Hmm what else have I been up to.I've been doing a lot of gift shopping for souvenirs to take back to the United States. I actually have like 4 grocery bags of gifts to give away for when I get back! Tons of cool Peruvian stuff; little stuff like bracelets and key chains, and a few bigger items for my close family. I am really excited to give my family their gifts :). Being with my family. Hanging out with my siblings. Having my own room. Being in a known, comforting environment.

Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Back from the jungle! So yesterday I got back from my school trip to Tarapoto, Peru! I always have a really hard time remembering everything.I'll do my best, and it may just be easier to do a post based on pictures (I'll use some of my own pictures and some of my classmates because I actually didn't take as many as I normally do.). The traditional Japanese inn that I lived in for two months had a hot spring. This was one of them with a great view of the river. My host dad is a flower arranging teacher. Along the wall of the gym were all of these awesome contraptions. Pogo sticks,unicycles, and stilts! Quite impressive for an elementary school to be teaching those! After spending time watching all of the worms learn, they all crowded around me and started climbing on me! I had know idea being a jungle gym could be so hard!
