Brownies are aged 7 to 10 years old. Brownie units are usually for a maximum of 24 girls and the girls work together in small groups called Sixes. The girls have a choice of uniform ranging from a short sleeved or long sleeved t-shirt, a zip up jacket, trousers, leggings, cycle shorts or a skort. There is also the choice of a sash or gilet for Brownies to sew and pin their badges onto. Brownies make this simple Promise that they share with members around the world:. Rainbows are the youngest members of The Guide Association (Girlguiding UK) aged between 5 and 7 years old. Rainbow Units have a recommended maximum of 18 girls per Unit. This ensures that each individual is given as much attention and help with everything as possible. They also have a ratio of one adult to every five Rainbows. Rainbows usually meet for one hour, once a week during term times. The Rainbow Promise is:-. I promise that I will do my best to think about my beliefs and to be kind and helpful.
