TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life: I Promise I'm Not Gone Forever
http://triforjoy.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-promise-im-not-gone-forever.html
TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. I Promise I'm Not Gone Forever. Yep, it's me. I wish I had something to say and promise I'll be back in blogland eventually. After setting an ambitious 2011 racing agenda, I fell on the ice in an unplowed parking lot and broke my ankle in three places in late January. On a happy note, I am reading your blogs. And on an even more special note, my little RJ turned 1 yesterday. It's been an amazing and beautiful year with her! Heres wish you a gr...

TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life: My heart aches...
http://triforjoy.blogspot.com/2010/09/my-heart-aches.html
TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. I've been avoiding writing this post, but know that I have to. I also know that I need to keep it short so that I don't turn into a teary mess. My sweet sweet running partner Nick crossed the Rainbow Bridge. On 28 August. I'm not sure that I've ever had to make a harder decision in my life, but Stuart and I realized that it was time. September 8, 2010 at 3:45 PM. I am so sorry. September 10, 2010 at 2:07 PM. TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life: T-12 Days...and my parents are laughing
http://triforjoy.blogspot.com/2010/09/t-12-daysand-my-parents-are-laughing.html
TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. T-12 Days.and my parents are laughing. Stuart and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday (aww), and RJ is seven months old today (awwww), so we took the time to relax yesterday and take a leisurely stroll around the 'hood with RJ, Joe and Ally (both of whom still clearly miss their brother Nick). Next question was "Have you been training? I think I'm missing something. September 21, 2010 at 3:41 PM. Ok, you FAILED to mention this!

TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life: Even my feet are out of shape - grody aftermath
http://triforjoy.blogspot.com/2010/10/even-my-feet-are-out-of-shape-grody.html
TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Even my feet are out of shape - grody aftermath. More than a week after Giant Acorn, and another lesson learned. Normally if a race is an Olympic or sprint, I don't bother with socks for the run. For whatever reason, I had socks with me in transition two weekends ago, but didn't put them on. As a result, my now-soft, non-calloused feet ended up with two blisters each on the tops of my feet where the uppers rubbed. October 12, 2010 at 12:49 PM.

Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff: Experiment: Less is More
http://principlefitness.blogspot.com/2009/05/experiment-less-is-more.html
Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Experiment: Less is More. These are the accounts my new experiment with a sample size of n=1. How I got here. Interestingly enough, when I was in college, my parents revealed to me that when I was born the doctors told them that I would need to wear corrective shoes. They never had me wear them, relied on prayer and I never experienced any difficulty with my feet. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Girls on the Run.

TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life: Mommy AND Triathlete!!!
http://triforjoy.blogspot.com/2010/10/mommy-and-triathlete.html
TRI FOR JOY - Triathlon and Life. Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Well, I did it! My times were nothing to write home about, but I did it. Distances were short – 750m swim, 12mi bike and a 5k run. Just a year ago, this was an event I wouldn’t even have trained or tapered for – it would have been a training day in its own right. Instead, I found myself more nervous than I was in the run up to last spring’s half iron. Which was a good feeling. On the way home, Stuart reiterated how important this race was....

Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff: September 2009
http://principlefitness.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff. Monday, September 14, 2009. The Nations Triathlon Race Report. I try not to be long-winded in my race reports, so let's see how I do. This has not been a great summer of training for me. Most of my training time has been devoted to helping CycleLife. Get off the ground (which is going great! Out of the water in 22:40 or so. Pretty slow, but not bad for my 2nd swim since July! Overall a beautiful day to race, an exceptionally well-run event - especially conside...

Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff: "Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit."
http://principlefitness.blogspot.com/2007/10/let-us-feel-divine-energy-of-spirit.html
Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff. Thursday, October 11, 2007. Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit.". This quote from Mary Baker Eddy. Was the theme of this past weekend's trip put on by Discovery Bound. Several months ago, I received a call from the Discovery Bound headquarters asking me to come speak and chaperon a weekend retreat for teenaged kids with a sports theme. The weekend would culminate with a mini triathlon (swim, kayak, run), so you know I was in! It was my great pleasure to s...

Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff: August 2007
http://principlefitness.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Eric's Training, Racing and Other Fun Stuff. Sunday, August 19, 2007. Who would have guessed he was a figure skater? Was today. Definitely one the most funnest-est courses we race on. It has a bit of everything: rocks, roots, logs, steep climbs, steady climbs, fast descents. Had broken a chain. Frank helped him fix it. Apparently, he used to figure skate. Go figure. See Video. Seriously, it was him. Pitched camp afterward and Frank "Did Nap". After not running much since Columbia because of a nagging inj...
