Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Black Ridge Trail - Colorado National Monument. Another great day on the Monument. The Black Ridge Trail was original made in 1880 to move cattle between Glade Park and the growing town of Fruita. Stunning views of the rock formations in the Monument and a few sightings of the collard lizard. YOu have a real eye for photography. June 30, 2008 at 4:48 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saturday, September 29, 2007. Even though I would have rather watched movies and nestled into my couch all day in recuperation. From a very fun party, I dragged myself and Stacy up Turnagain. Pass for a hike on the Nissman. Center Ridge Trail. And we found the mother load of all blueberry bushes, a true blue bounty. I'd never seen anything like it. Enjoy a few pictures from today's bountiful adventure. Saturday, September 22, 2007. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. More Birthdays and Happenings. Fleece and ex...

Wednesday, February 13, 2008. I'm trying recipes from this cookbook. It is gloriously esthetically pleasing with gorgeous photographs, and the food is creative (yet not too weird), super tasty, and it helps use up the veggies I get from Full Circle Farm. Ms Swanson also has a blog http:/ www.101cookbooks.com/. I made the Barley style risotto the other night, but no picture cuz no one wants to see my kitchen. And I can't wait to try the hedgehog potatoes. This sounds like an advertisement, sorry*. But it ...

Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Slaughter Ridge.I don't know why it's called that, but it's a fun hike non-the-less. Part of the memorial extravaganza included a float down the Kenai. My views from the back of the boat. We spotted a black bear muching on spring grasses. Jeff' s cousin and friend are new to AK so this was a pretty cool part of the trip for them. Memorial on the Kenai. How wonderful is it to take a break and spend time with friends doing fun stuff? Friday night, Stacy and I headed to the AWA. In hi...

Monday, September 22, 2008. Welcome Autumnal Equinox. We've got fresh snow creeping down the mountains. And I wish we'd see it sooner everywhere. There are usually a few days this time of year when the whether and scenery are amazing. Today was one of those days. We've had so much rain so even a few hours of sun is a blessing. The colors are great and the mountains. Until the spring. Winters in Girdwood. Well, I guess people will use less gas if they just hunker down in front. Monday, September 1, 2008.

Wednesday, August 29, 2007. I Blame My Mother. I cried last night while watching David Letterman. Yep, I think your supposed to laugh. But it was a good cry, a happy cry. Dalton Carriker. The newest Little League superstar, was a guest and it was probably the best thing I've seen on TV in years. I was also impressed with the way Letterman interacted with Dalton. It was as if he was reliving his own childhood and just soaking in the pure innocent energy oozing. Monday, August 27, 2007. Wednesday, August 2...

Happy Birthday Mike, Noelle, Tim, Pat and Jacob! Big news in AK, and for the US in general I suppose, as Sarah Palin is named McCains VP. It's a big deal for Alaska and lots are very proud.
