Sunday, 25 May 2008. My trip to Placencia with Tracey (see below) took up most of the week. We left the boys at the dive shop with a busy week. So busy they were forced to eat out two of the evenings at Reef and Casa Picasso with follow-up drinks at Pedro’s. On our return, we skipped BC's for a change and opted for a night in with Paul’s chicken wings and stir-fry rice. Posted by The Godfreys. Yes, we saw them! Saturday, 31 July 2010. The weather finally cleared up and we've had a few hot, sunny, calm days. We have done some more diving and seen sharks, turtles and the usual reef fish. Aparently alien invaders also known as lion fish were released from captivity and are taking over the Caribbean and eating all the native species. Wednesday, 28 July 2010. We went out to a new restaurant called Red Ginger. At the Phoenix Hotel, a very smart, new, concrete building in town. It has the same owners as Caliente and Blue Water Grill. We had the five course chef's menu which was absolutely delicious - some of the best food we've had here and half price wine to go with it was an added bonus (no, we didn't drink twice as much). Monday, 26 July 2010. No diving over the weekend, but the weather brightened up and it was sunny and hot, hot, hot! I walked around town taking note of all the changes. There are a lot more concrete buildings. Some buinesses have gone, some have moved and some are new. The Greenhouse (fruit and veg) welcomed us back and I can verify that Manelly's ice cream is as good as ever. The Island Ferry has gone and the service is now provided by Costal Xpress. Sunday, 25 January 2009. On Sunday, we lunched at Coney Wines in Martinborough with Robbie's parents. This is where the wedding will take place in March. It's a beautiful setting and has a nice, laid back atmosphere. The waether was hot and sunny. We tasted the wine selection and that was good too. It's going to be great. Posted by The Godfreys.
