Gned's Miscellany: January 2005
http://gnedthegnome.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Thursday, January 27, 2005. I enjoy and admire the BBC. That said, Her Majesty's custodians of media are complete cretins when it comes to forecasting the weather. I've heard it said that there is more art than science in predicting the weather 4 or 5 days out, but do we not have the technology to accurately forecast today's and tomorrow's weather? Forecast when the information is no more reliable than the ask-the-magic-eight-ball method?

One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Monday, December 11, 2006. This is only a test. Do not be alarmed. Blogger beta - no workage. What has Google done to my #$%*# blog? Posted by Gned the Gnome @ 5:27 pm. Do the comments work? What is this whole "blogging" thing anyways? I vaguely remember it from a wild dream I once had. Subscribe to Post Comments [ Atom. Gned's Miscellany: A Nice Day in Northampton
http://gnedthegnome.blogspot.com/2007/09/remember-remember.html
One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Monday, September 10, 2007. A Nice Day in Northampton. Remember, remember. the 9th of September. Okay, that's not how the verse goes. But for me this happens to be a date worth commemorating. It marks a week of living at a new age and, in recent years at least, seems to be a day for reaching preposterous goals. Last year, Sep 9 was the day I finally joined the ranks of the Elder Ones on the Mountain of Madness with a sub-35 minute grind time.

One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Sunday, December 19, 2004. Tidings of comfort and joy. The Christmas season is upon us! Merry Christmas to all! Posted by Gned the Gnome @ 1:31 am. Friday, December 10, 2004. After a month of anguish, our computer was finally repaired by the slothful drones at Microlive. Hurray and halleluiah! I cannot say it any better than Miss Muppet. No, I think instead that I should, nay - must, offer some comments on a recent post by Snowy. Soundtracks...

Gned's Miscellany: V6M to OX4
http://gnedthegnome.blogspot.com/2006/12/v6m-to-ox4.html
One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Monday, December 04, 2006. It would not be an unfair question to ask what has become of that beaupère of beardlings, Gned the Gnome. Did he and his belle get lost in the Irish Sea, only to be remembered in some solemn shanty sung by Snowy Cat in the Wolf and Hound? Have they received a royal peerage and retired to a life of serenity at some English manor, leaving their servants to blog in their stead? Our former city view. Still, the final w...

Gned's Miscellany: It Still Lives
http://gnedthegnome.blogspot.com/2006/06/it-still-lives.html
One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Monday, June 12, 2006. While we wait with bated breath for the. Gned's story was one of little (if any) interest. The Grouse enthusiasts and dilettantes have seen it all before. "When will we see something new from this guy? Optimism was soon replaced with realism. Snowy left a still-stretching Gned at the base and trundled along, only to find that his legs had lost all feeling and form after 3 minutes. "What has become of me? This is a man ...

Gned's Miscellany: Winning in Wessex
http://gnedthegnome.blogspot.com/2005/05/winning-in-wessex.html
One gnome's thoughts on various matters, including pointy hats. Monday, May 02, 2005. Happy May Day, friends and neighbours! It is a summery bank holiday in the United Kingdom, marking an amazing three days of sunshine and non-arctic temperatures (with a few thundershowers thrown in to remind the British that Rain is the uncontested emperor of this land). A street in the piggy town of Calne. At some points I was almost relaxing, but we were still pulling off repeated 100 metres in 1:48! Hills near Chippe...

I collect boarding passes and hotel room key cards. I travel a lot for work. In fact this is 90% of my job. I photograph hotels; from the extravagent to the value oriented I've seen the inside of thousands of rooms in hundreds of hotels in 17 countries. I’ve heard that Cooper has retired to regular walks in Suburban Atlanta.
