http://florypower.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." Sir Edmund Hillary. Sunday, August 30, 2009. I can't express how many times it has snowed in the higher elevations during the month of August this year, simply because I have lost count! Today was one such day, though. I waited all day for the clouds to give way some because I just knew Pikes Peak would be dusted white from today's weather. I was right, and here is the end result:. Sunday, August 30, 2009. FLORY POWER: September 2010
http://florypower.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." Sir Edmund Hillary. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Not so long ago. There are times in your life when you put aside the writing you so enjoy producing because you're actually tired of writing! Such has been the case for me since my degree program has me writing many, many academic papers. Just this past summer I wrote over 150-pages, for one class.in just 8-weeks! But here's the big thing: I will be competing in my first half-marathon in two weeks! In the ...

FLORY POWER: To Israel, With Love.....
http://florypower.blogspot.com/2010/12/to-israel-with-love.html
It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." Sir Edmund Hillary. Monday, December 6, 2010. To Israel, With Love. What does this have to do with Israel? Well, it gives a little background, and a little insight into some of my feelings. For a short time in high school I considered pursuing a college degree in law enforcement. It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." Sir Edmund Hillary. Sunday, December 26, 2010. The year was rung in with the usual fireworks from atop Pikes Peak. It's quite the spectacle from 40-miles away! Hockey is definitely more fun to watch when it's a bunch of 4 - 8 year olds, though! Jeff took up mountain biking wi...

FLORY POWER: November 2010
http://florypower.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." Sir Edmund Hillary. Monday, November 1, 2010. Rock 'n' Roll Pro-shots. These are just a smattering of my favorite shots by the professional photographers from the half marathon two weeks ago. What an exhilarating feeling! About mile 3, right before the old Union Station. I thought this was a fun shot since we were in the same step, same stride, and both looking at the camera. She pulled away shortly after and finished 19-minutes ahead of me.
