Great Scot's photo diary: One View From Edinburgh Castle.

http://greatscotphotography.blogspot.com/2011/07/one-view-from-edinburgh-castle.html

Great Scot's photo diary. The inside track on a Scottish photographer's working life. Sunday, 24 July 2011. One View From Edinburgh Castle. I was working recently in Edinburgh Castle. And I think iconic views of it are instantly recognisable worldwide. Like most world landmarks that you live near to or see frequently, you tend to take them for granted and wonder what all the fuss is about. I forgot about the views that can be seen from the ramparts. This one of the Balmoral Hotel. Rare Shetland Bumble Bee.

Great Scot's photo diary: March 2011

http://greatscotphotography.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Great Scot's photo diary. The inside track on a Scottish photographer's working life. Monday, 28 March 2011. Great Place To Get Married. If you are looking for the ultimate wedding venue then Fasque House. The stately home once owned by the Gladstone. Family opened its doors for a wedding fayre on Sunday and it was all happening. Exotic sports cars, helicopters, fine food, pipers, harpists, florists and a host of others. First Of The Year. I spotted my first butterfly of the year at Fasque House. The eve...

http://greatscotphotography.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Great Scot's photo diary. The inside track on a Scottish photographer's working life. Thursday, 28 April 2011. I was at Stirling University at the weekend and saw this shot of the famous Wallace Monument. It's a wee bit different to the usual property shots. I'm asked to take. I think it looks much better in black and white. Sunday, 24 April 2011. It's not very often that you get to see this. For as long as I can remember, there has always been a road cone on the head of the statue of Wellington. These o...

Tom Morton's Beatcroft: December 2014

http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Sunday, December 28, 2014. Leftovers - a post-Christmas poem for Rug and Dexter. Last of the turkey - the 29th of December. Roasted, sandwiched, utterly dismembered. Stock into soup, unknown leftover veg. Boiled and blended. Now I pledge. Henceforth, no fowl will be consumed. No chicken, duck or pheasant will be doomed. To a culinary fate. No bird will grace my plate. Fly, fly away sweet goose and grouse. He would be dead.

Tom Morton's Beatcroft: March 2014

http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Monday, March 24, 2014. Meanwhile, on the Ness of Hillswick: Fulmars and a pool. Nationalism: a dangerous delusion. Six months, then, until the referendum on Scottish separatism. Would it call into question the much-discussed ‘objectivity of the BBC’? But there has been, and never will be, any political discussion on Morton Through Midnight. Not on air, and not on its dedicated social media feeds or the website. This? Some o...

Tom Morton's Beatcroft: February 2014

http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Monday, February 10, 2014. First song from childrens' show 'Really Disgusting Songs Your Parents Don't Want You To Sing'. I've long thought about a children's show which would include messy, horrible songs, many about poo. Parents would hate it, probably. I suspect the bairns would love it. Monday, February 03, 2014. Commerce, cars and music. When Neil went electric and Dylan danced on Detroit's grave. Which would be a respo...

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Monday, July 28, 2014. From the Referendum Songbook: Pure Dead Amazing (The Commonwealth Games Song). A new song from Scar Quilse over on The Referendum Songbook. The Trongate's so clean I licked up my spilt pakora sauce last night. I got the late bus home to Possil and I didn't see a single fight. All the junkies are in a big shed at Weirs of Cathcart. They're getting sent to Edinburgh when the festival starts. Holiday cott...

Tom Morton's Beatcroft: October 2014

http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Friday, October 17, 2014. Nerina Pallot, Bob Lefsetz, 'the Troubadour' and whether musicians actually deserve to get paid at all. The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. Is a talented, fascinating and highly articulate musician, and during an interview and session she did for my radio show. Botto...

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Friday, March 20, 2015. Over the winter, I've wandered Northmavine with my camera set to Doom-Laden-Black-and-White-Artiness, snapping pictures of this, that and the other. But mostly the sky. Elcipse, 20 March 2015. I've known visitors who left swearing never to return, intimidated by what they saw as the massive, glowering threat above them, the sense of their own insignificance. Tom Morton's Beatcroft: November 2014

http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Burger van (no burger). Great Co-op Deals on wine and whisky. Also, they have the excellent 2011 Chateau Vieux Manoir Claret in stock. The price is around £7 and it's worth double that. I was advised to try it by an independent wine dealer who reckoned it was the best value supermarket wine in the country. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. The Seahouse (extended 12-inch version). This is a (much) longer version of the story kindly published by the excellent Caught by the River. Sand bags are not bags of sand, not in this neck of the bog. They are bags of grit, bags of gravel, sacks of small stones. Sand, sharp sand, builder's sand? We wait for the top of the tide. We wait for the flood. The phone doesn't ring. We sleep sound and...

Tom Morton's Beatcroft: January 2015

http://beatcroft.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

A Whisky in Monsterville. Chronicles of Rug (and Dexter). Malt and Barley Revue. Sunday, January 25, 2015. The Burnsian Ballad of Rug and Dexter. Great, slobbery, fat and lazy dug. You lie upon the lino like a rug. Or rise to block our viewing of the telly. Furry, aromatic, downright smelly. Affectionately covering us with drool. A massive, moving, bloodshot-eyed footstool. You shed your hair at least five times a day. I hoover, but it never goes away. It blows around the house like tumbleweed. And then ...

Sculptures in Pewter and Bronze. Gold and Silver Plating. My name is Scott Blance Sutherland and I am an artist living and working in Aberdeen, Scotland. I work in pewter and bronze making mainly historical figures. However as can be seen from this site I make everything from brooches, belt buckles and keyrings to chess sets and bookends.
