The Fishing Weirs of the K’omoks First Nation | GreatWhiteNorth

https://greatwhitenorth11.wordpress.com/2012/04/15/the-fishing-weirs-of-the-komoks-first-nation

Thawing out your thoughts. Summary of the School Year Wordle. The Fishing Weirs of the K’omoks First Nation. April 15, 2012. This Christmas as we took a family stroll along the Courtenay Riverway Heritage Walk. As the story goes, the town of Courtenay, B.C. has submitted a proposal to the World Heritage Fund to have the fishing weirs designated as an official world heritage site. Why you ask? The application is pending but our fingers are crossed. Nce of the weirs’ structures shows that whoever eng...

Week Thirteen | GreatWhiteNorth

Thawing out your thoughts. Week Fourteen →. May 27, 2011. Since the great diaspora from the Slave Lake Wild Fire. Much of the inhabitants of Slave Lake are heading back to what’s left of their town today. Us Canyon Creekers are also allowed back home. After my week sejour in Edmonton, I packed my Wanderer2. Tent and Coleman stove in my car and called the under rated Spruce Point Park Camp Ground. One can never go wrong with crocs. If I come across a cougar then I will really have seen it all up here.

Thawing out your thoughts. I have an interest in arts and culture wherever my bicycle takes me. My travels have allowed me to realize that there is ingenuity wherever you go, you just have to go off the beaten municipal bike path. The Fishing Weirs of the K’omoks First Nation. April 15, 2012. Week Fourteen | GreatWhiteNorth

https://greatwhitenorth11.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/week-fourteen

Thawing out your thoughts. Week Fifteen: For the Love of Blog →. June 6, 2011. After five days of camping the roads to Slave Lake and Canyon Creek opened up again. I actually stayed one more night at the camp site because I was enjoying sleeping in the crisp May air. I hadn’t seen any evidence of fire yet since Kinuso and surrounding area weren’t threatened. I never knew, naive as I am, that cooling appliances cannot be salvaged when having sat idle with food rotting in it. Apparently the smell of ra...

Thawing out your thoughts. Week Thirteen →. May 17, 2011. Why did I mention last week that I was beginning to feel as if I had nothing to blog about? Once in Slave Lake, Jade et. al. went to stay with acquaintances and other evacuees registered at the Northern Lakes College. I hit up Barbara’s pad where I comfortably ate a falafal wrap. Out of Barbara’s window we could see the smoke from the east marry the smoke from the south west. After walking about town and experiencing the 100 km/hr winds and the du...

READmonton: Kreviazuk Revisited

Making space for art, culture, and community amidst the rubble. Thursday, November 11, 2010. The Chantal Kreviazuk and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Concert I went to on November 1st confirmed that there are no bad performances at the Winspear. I've enjoyed many inspiring shows at the Winspear ( Rufus Wainwright. And last Monday's event did not digress. Though we were in what are technically the nosebleeds. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Journal of Important Studies. Giselle Denis (Edmonton Painter).

READmonton: La Boheme

http://readmonton.blogspot.com/2010/11/readmonton-has-been-on-brief-hiatus-not.html

Making space for art, culture, and community amidst the rubble. Wednesday, November 3, 2010. REadmonton has been on a brief hiatus, not because there haven't been amazing artistic happening in this northern city, but because there have been too many. In brief, last week's La Boheme at the Jubilee Auditorium. Was magical and fervor-laden. As a first-time opera goer, I found my experience lived up to my outlandish preconceptions. Though our seats were bohemian. Subsequent entry- Chantal Kreviazuk.

READmonton: The Lost Art of the Pop-In

http://readmonton.blogspot.com/2011/02/lost-art-of-pop-in.html

Making space for art, culture, and community amidst the rubble. Wednesday, February 9, 2011. The Lost Art of the Pop-In. DISCLAIMER: This is not an excuse to become a stalker. A friend of mine popped by after closure with her ex when I was already laying in bed. As I I adore this friend and was only guiltily watching Californication. This is a social etiquette lost on north Americans who would offended at the thought of sharing a bag of corn nuts with the teen on the ETS. February 10, 2011 at 7:17 AM.

Making space for art, culture, and community amidst the rubble. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Apparently there's this new feature on facebook where you sign in on your smart phone to where are you are so all you're contacts know where you are and so you can see how many of your acquaintances are in your vicinity. Consider this as me signing in to Toronto. A Polish burrow, St. Lawrence Market. That is FREE, I experienced two museums in three days. Up first was the Textile Museum of Canada. Making space for art, culture, and community amidst the rubble. Monday, April 12, 2010. Art Gallery of Alberta. On my morning jog a phrase cycled through my head: Le vent, il suffis de te rendre fou. To satiate my nerves, and my long overdue curiosity, I decided to spend my Sunday afternoon at the newly opened Art Gallery of Alberta. Accessing the establishment was easily done via LRT. As I stepped outside into the sunny and seemingly warm downtown, the phrase le vent, il suffis de te rendre fou. Working...

GreatWhiteNorth | thawing out your thoughts

Thawing out your thoughts. The Fishing Weirs of the K’omoks First Nation. April 15, 2012. This Christmas as we took a family stroll along the Courtenay Riverway Heritage Walk. I was enamored by my sister-in-law’s mother’s account of the strange posts jutting out of the water of the Salish Sea Comox Inlet. It wasn’t until I returned this Easter that I was able to take a closer look. Fortunately it was low tide so I mimicked the locals and jaunted upon the ebbed sea floor. Summary of the School Year Wordle.

Four and a Half Hours North Of Sanity. Where only the moose and caribou know your name! Wednesday, March 14, 2007. What can I say. I've been busy. So briefly I will retrace me steps of the past year and try to remember what all happened during those 365 days. It was amazing to see her overcome and obstacle like that and man I have a tough girl! Aller au contenu principal. Un nouveau départ…. When I wake up I want life to be a surprise.
