So when I got married last year my husband and I decided not to get cable so we can save money and for the fact that we both got caught mindlessly watching it and getting addicted when we had it growing up. Now it's just a few days past our first anniversary and looking back on the year, I am so thankful we don't have cable. Somehow I got myself to sleep and all was good come morning but wow, not doing that again!

I always gave my mom a heads up or asked about particular things, I still do that with my husband, but because most of what I do or change pertains to me (ex. kitchen and bathroom) and I am the one home most of the time, there is a lot more freedom and virtually no boxes for others to go through. We did take note on what sorts of things were filling up those nasty plastic grocery bags headed for the giant trash bin!
