Here, have a list. I still can’t wrap my head around the idea that I’m going to be in a different hemisphere in a few days. It’s kind of mind-boggling. Things to do in Australia. 1 Watch the sunrise and sunset. 2 Take as many pictures as possible. 3 Absorb the Australian accent. 5 Befriend a kangaroo and bring it home. 6 Ride a ferry. 7 Go to as many beaches, national parks, and nature reserves as possible. 8 Avoid being eaten or otherwise seriously maimed. 9 See an opera in the Sydney Opera House. 16 Go...

Robin Williams, we bid you adieu | My Semester Sydneyside
https://erinstudiesaustralia.wordpress.com/2014/08/13/robin-williams-we-bid-you-adieu
Robin Williams, we bid you adieu. Today’s post was going to be about something trivial- me babbling on about how my first week of classes went, or something to that extent, but I can’t bring myself to write that post. Not yet, anyway. Instead, I feel as though I have to weigh in on something more serious and heartbreaking: the death of Robin Williams. What if Jumanji or the Dead Poets Society had never existed? When I left the classroom, I admit that I sat down by myself and cried. Enter your comment here.

It’s officially official! It’s FINALLY officially official: I’m going to Sydney, Australia! I leave in about a month, and I don’t think there are enough words in the English language to describe my excitement. I could maybe find enough words if I combined every language in the world, but whatever. We all know that’s never going to happen. I guess I will have to be satisfied with sticking to plain old American English. How excited am I? Every time I start to think about Australia, I’m overwhelmed by this ...

8220;I’m finally standing up! I feel so free! 8221; The little girl walking by me exclaimed as we got off the plane in LA after our 5 hour flight from Detroit. I wonder if she would have felt so free had she been about to follow me onto another plane for 15 hours across the ocean to Sydney. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. One of the things I’ve loved about being on this study abroad trip is meeting new people. I’ve met so many people from all over the world. Someday, when I’m a millionaire, I should do a world tour and couch surf every where I can. We might all be from different places, but we’re all here in Sydney together. You guys are awesome! 1 New South Wales, Australia. 2 Tasmania, Australia. 15 Colorado, USA. 16 Mississippi, USA. 17 North Carolina, USA. 18 Rhode Island, USA. 19 Massachusetts, USA. 20 Wisconsin, USA.

Oh hey there, Australia. It’s unfortunately taken me a little bit longer than I’d have liked to get this written and posted because of an extreme lack of time and internet. Yay for doing touristy things and staying in hotels! After we got to the hotel, we dropped off our bags and started to walk around the city. As I stepped out of the hotel the first question that came to mind was, “Why is Sydney so far away? Let’s suppose for just a second that there’s a giant alien, we’ll call him Bo...It’s almo...

Onto the next adventure | My Semester Sydneyside
https://erinstudiesaustralia.wordpress.com/2014/11/30/onto-the-next-adventure
Onto the next adventure. I’m done with school! My last papers have been turned in, and I participated in a Sydney-wide radio broadcast. I’m pretty sure I’ve passed all my classes, but we’ll have to wait awhile to see for sure. One thing I’ve hated having to do recently is leave the friends I’ve made here. At least I know that I’ll talk to them again. I’m not viewing this as goodbye, but see you later. Hopefully we can all meet up again sometime. I’m going to try and post some pictures from New Zealand af...
