3W: Bill Maddex ז"ל
http://apt3w.blogspot.com/2007/05/bill-maddex.html
Sunday, May 27, 2007. Bill was niftar this past shabbes. When a friend of mine came to prospie at the UofC he met Bill in the kitchen. Bill warned Adam with complete seriousness, "You might not want to come here, there are a lot of really weird people.". Bill just wasn't like others. He was singular. I don't know why Bill deigned to talk to me or even, dare I say, befriend me. I never really knew why I merited his company. I just realized one day that his, "Do you know what you are talking about? I just ...

Tuesday, September 21, 2010. A Metric of Difficulty. I came across this statistic yesterday and was intrigued/unsettled. Infant mortality rate: rank/@ birth (UN/CIA)/under five. 169/(81.5/43.8)/105.4. Afganistan is second to last of all countries in the UN list of infant mortalities per 1000 live births. The CIA puts Afganistan third to last at 222nd of 224. A kid has a 1/10 chance of dying in Iraq before the age of five, but more than double that in Afganistan! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

3W: June 2010
http://apt3w.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 06, 2010. I met a fellow at a wedding last week who was transferring from the UofC to Penn. Mark D had told of this student the week prior and I was really upset (given that I didn't even know the guy). How will frum discourse ever improve if Jews keep going to Penn? I was thinking the same thing. God, UofCers are so pompous. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Before the Monastery of the Cross. Death to internet users. Ephraim, Gedaliah, and Rosh HaShanah. 3W: Why do Dems have so much more academic firepower on the Judiciary committee?
http://apt3w.blogspot.com/2010/05/why-do-dems-have-so-much-more-academic.html
Friday, May 14, 2010. Why do Dems have so much more academic firepower on the Judiciary committee? I have long thought that the Democrats intentionally put only their more left-wing members on the Judiciary committee. No need to have any of their nominal pro-life members get involved with judicial politics. Of course, Arlen Specter was put on the committee by the GOP.I dont think that detracts from my case that the Democrats had a political reason for stacking the committee as they did. The Democrats are...
